So You Think You Can Dance
OK, John Adams was pretty good, but 23??? It wasn’t Angels in America good. Come on guys.
Plus, the cinematography got a nod? WTF? That was the most pretentious– I will shut up now.
To one of the the above posts: So You Think You Can Dance is a brilliant, artistic, underrated show and deserved the nominations- and 3 were for choreography anyway.
I really want Damages to overtake Mad Men, but looking at this chart makes the odds a little worse for it. So happy about the supporting actor nods but no Rose Byrne? Come on…
John Adams was superb. I really hope it sweeps!
The Wire got NO acting nods, and only ONE writing nod! Seriously? Also, for my fellow Lost Fans, NO writing nom for The Constant?
Oh my god, I just noticed that The Wire received less nominations than So You Think You Can Dance. I am speechless.
I am almost through with the emmys. I mean come on…Two and a Half men???? And no nom for Ugly Betty, or Big Love???
These guys are a bunch of idiots.
Charlie Sheen???? For REal??? It’s become a joke.
Well, I am not a television watcher at all, but I did see the complete JOHN ADAMS miniseries on HBO and was reasonably impressed with it, especially the earlier episodes. Of course, it was based on David McCullough’s pulitzer-prize winner, which is one of the greatest biographies ever written by an American, so there is an inherent quality in the proceedings.
The miniseries is not truly great–there are tedious and uninspired passages, and the later segments don’t have the historical urgency of the early ones (not surprisingly) but it is still a memorable experience. Those 23 nominations, which lead the field, point to its, pre-eminence, even in the face of overkill.
Pushing Daisies for series
So who got robbed?
Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights.
