Leo and Kate Step Up

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have agreed to help fundraise for the last remaining Titanic survivor, Milvina Dean. The stars, along with James Cameron, have contributed to the fund to help pay the woman’s nursing home bills. Clearly, this isn’t something they are obligated to do but it is a kind thing to do nonetheless. Well, it’s either that or risk getting a hex put on them by the old woman. And that’s the last thing Cameron needs right now. So shines a good deed in a weary world.

Wow the last Titanic survivor. And she’s 98 years old. Well I applaud Cameron, DiCaprio, and Winslet for doing that and helping her. Celine Dion should help too. I love Leo and Kate!

ha Ryan! And man I just looked at that photo. DiCaprio had such a baby face. Painfully pretty. yikes, he’d hate me saying that.

Fund raise? Why can’t the three just pay the bill ?

I’m not so enthralled by this action. What else are they going to do? They both make a boatload of money (no pun intended) and are superstars. No they don’t have to, but if they don’t they risk bad press. So why not toss some cash toward the old gal’s well-being. It’s good PR (and avoids unnecessary curses).
Kate’s got a salty edge to her that I like. I could just see her PR person approaching her with this request. “Oh, bloody hell,” says Kate. “I can see it now. If Leo and I don’t contribute to this, the bloody press will be all over us. Go ahead and write her a check. And make sure it’s bigger than Cameron’s.”

Huzzah, hooray, hurrah!
In America, she’d probably have been bankrupt, abandoned, and buried years ago.

I read that the three of them gave money enough to pay all of the lady’s bills – I think fund raise is not quite right.

Way to go, Kate The Great Winslet! This charitable act is now up there in my Fav Kate Moments alongside her Oscar victory for her leading performance in The Reader.

To say that one of the reasons Leo, Kate and Cameron decided to help this woman was because she would have put a “hex” on them does nothing but cheapen this charitable act.

I think it’s very sweet of them.

It’s great that they did this. I remember when this story broke out about this poor woman, and I said to myself that James Cameron should help her out. God knows Titanic made alot of money. But to have DiCaprio & Winslet help too, it’s great.

Don’t worry, give Obama the time, and we all will be bankrupt, abandoned, and buried.
Love you Ryan!
