Kathryn Bigelow outmanned the men with her nerve-shattering, Iraq-war-set drama “The Hurt Locker,” and may become the first woman to win a Best Director Academy Award. Sandra Bullock was box-office queen thanks to “The Proposal” and “The Blind Side.”
