New York Film Critics – What Will They Choose?

Tom O’Neil talks to Armond White, Chairman of the NYFCC about the post-game tattling that’s been going on of late. The NYFCC announce their winners on Monday, the 14th in New York City and apparently an agreement has been reached as to how members can community the throwdown online:

White said members will not be permitted to blog or tweet live during the voting conclave, but “we’re now allowing members, if they choose, to write about the vote and other films in contention later when they write about the meeting. But that will be their version of reporting. It will not be legitimized by the circle, so it will amount to gossip. There will only be one official winner announced per category.”

Gossip! That Armond White sure likes kicking up the dust.

What do you think the NYFCC will do? Last year they went for Milk all the way. We’ll be posting our predictions a bit later but for some reason I feel like this year is so up in the air, er, so to speak. It’s probably going to be either The Hurt Locker or Up in the Air. Maybe Precious, except for the whole Armond White thing. The NYFCC’s BP winner list, along with LA, after the cut. Hoping you’ll pop in here and tell me what film YOU think is going to win. Will Up in the Air take both LA and NY?
