Well, before this week I would have said Blomkamp was my NGNG pick, but I’d have to go with Abrams now.

Don’t see choice #5 for either Anne Thompson or Edward Douglas. Guess it’s “Coming Soon” :)

I still don’t understand how Blomkamp all of a sudden gets the fifth spot. Up until yesterday I thought he was a NGNG pick. He certainly looks more like a typical DGA nominee than Daniels or Scherfig so I shouldn’t be too surprised.

My no guts no glory is for Lee Daniels….which i don’t think qualifies as ngng

    i think he’s stronger a candidate than people think….so let’s see

ngng (this is already leaving a bad taste in my mouth)

John Lee Hancock – the blind side
    Neil Marshall – Nine
    Jane Campion – Bright Star

“i think he’s stronger a candidate than people think….so let’s see” I agree. For me it was hard to choose for that fifth slot between Eastwood and Daniels and I still feel like Daniels will be named.

I wouldn’t count Lone Scherfig as NG, NG. Outside of the safe 4 (Bigelow, Cameron, Tarantino, Reitman), she’s one of the four most likely to grab that fifth slot, along with Daniels, Eastwood, and Bloomkamp. I’m predicting her to make the cut.

NG, NG: Joel and Ethan Coen

Tarantino might not shut out since he’s not a DGA member. Hard to think they would shun him considering he doesn’t have to be a member, but he doesn’t have the best relationship with them, that’s for sure.

They nominated Tarantino for Pulp Fiction, so I think he should be fine here.

I have to agree with the JJ Abrams as the NGNG pick.

    Bigelow
    Blomkamp
    Cameron
    Reitman
    Tarantino
