Despite the reviews for The King’s Speech — which put the film respectably in the ’80s — even with a so-so review from the NY Times (good reviews from Kenneth Turan, Stephanie Zacharek and Joe Morgenstern) — still have the Tom Hooper period piece at the top of the pile.
Thelma Adams and Bob Tourtellote have Black Swan winning. Erik Davis has Toy Story 3 winning — he also predicts Jeff Bridges to win for True Grit. Still in the Social Network camp, Yours Truly, along with Scott Feinberg, Tom O’Neil, Jeff Wells and Kevin Polowy. But it’s still anyone’s game, folks. Black Swan will have the love it/hate it factor going for it; King’s Speech has the across-the-board appeal going for it, while The Social Network has the bravura director, along with across-the-board appeal, a tempting mix for The Ampas of late.
