This is such a great race this year! I can’t believe it!
I’m going to have to say not to underestimate Kate Winslet for Carnage. It’s a Tony Award Winning role with a ton of complexity, and the industry love and respect her. Also, Polanski could pull off a real success with this one. But we’ll see…
I think Rooney Mara is really going to take it as transformation of the year for Girl with the Dragon Tattoos. Looking at pictures of her only a year ago it’s amazing the physical transformation she’s undergone. The role seems like it has a lot of potential. Can’t wait to see. More than Olsen, I think she has a real big shot at being this year’s talented ingenue (see Jennifer Lawrence in Winter’s Bone, Kiera Knightley in Pride and Prejudice)
I’m not quite sure if Viola Davis has a real shot. She’s stoic and courageous, but I don’t think there’s enough girth.
Just my humble opinion.
I’ll do my top ten, because I can’t resist!

Where is Charlize Theron on this list? She’s definitely above Jones and Knightley.

Ridiculous! Kirsten Dunst’s not even on the list. I’d rectify that if I were you because you’ll be plenty embarrassed come nomination time. She’s an absolute lock!
