One of the documentaries that everyone must see if, for no other reason, to bring awareness to the continual threat of nuclear war.  Lucy Walker directs, Lawrence Bender produces, and backed by the same group who backed An Inconvenient Truth. Read more.

Climate Refugees: The Human Face of Climate Change
What type of film warrants the United Nations hosting a screening of a film to the leaders of the world? Michael Nash’s film titled Climate Refugees. NPR radio calls the film “a resounding wake-up call for every human being to go green immediately. It is a must-see film that puts the human soul in the science of climate change.” Robert Redford in the NY Times during Sundance 2010 called the film, “An agent for social change.” Climate Refugees is the first non-partisan climate film that illuminates the intersection in civilization where over population, limited resources, over consumption and our changing climate are all colliding, creating tens of millions of climate refugees. Not a single law gives asylum to these victims, and the UN states, “this is clearly the greatest issue facing humankind.”
“The human face of climate change is real and is a growing national and international security issue. Climate Refugees is changing the landscape of how we view climate change. In fact, I find it almost haunting how the film predicted Pakistan floods and how the terrorist will prey on the victims of our changing climate. In my opinion, and I am not alone…this is the most timely and important film to come along in a decade or so.
I believe the film will be screening at the Laemmle Sunset 5 from Sept 10 – 16th, but I would check http://www.climaterfugees.com to make sure.
Ky, I agree with you. I saw Michael Nash’s Climate Refugees at Cornell University last week. This film stunned the campus and brought new insight to the issue of climatic migration and national security issues. Everyone is still talking about the film, some have changed thier major because of the films message. I have also seen Count Down and Waiting For Superman. Both really good docs, both Climate Refugees is on a whole other level globally. Please do the world and yourself a favor, go see Climate Refugees.
At the moment im expecting Restrepo, Inside Job and Waiting for Superman to be leading contenders.
