Had been holding off posting these sample fragments in hopes that maybe more would become available. But it looks like the 3 complete tracks after the cut are all we’re getting for now.

Absolutely wonderful, I can’t wait to see this.

The POA score is just one of those wonderful scores that is great as a standalone album as well as working perfectly within the film itself, the Mischief Managed closing suite of the soundtrack/films closing credits is actually the exact lengh of time it takes me to walk home from the local train station, sometimes when I’ve had a less then perfect day at work and I want to rejig my mood before I walk through the front door I play it, it’s really great for lifting ones levels of enthusiasm.

Whenever someone mentions the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack, I always find myself opening iTunes and playing the track “Buckbeak’s Flight” followed by “A Window to the Past”. (I’m listening to Buckbeak’s Flight right now lol. I couldn’t resist). Those two tracks are some of the most beautiful and majestic pieces from any soundtrack in the past 10 years.

I agree Walt, I think Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was indeed spectacular. In my opinion, it was his best score of the past ten years.

Williams produced several terrific scores last decade, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban in particular was spectacular, his loss for Geisha was very frustrating. He seems to be suffering from the same thing as Streep, people seem to have this idea that he wins all the time, even though it’s been nearly 20years since Schindlers List. Hopefully his 5 year (non Indy) absence will have cleared peoples heads.
Also, I do love Menkin, and think he deserved all 8 of his, except for score for The Little Mermaid, only because it coincided with Danny Elfmans criminally over looked score for Batman, which is still his best work.

I agree that he should’ve won for Memoirs of a Geisha, but his other nomination for Munich may have cancelled him out. Brokeback Mountain was still a decent winner… They have had such bad choices in recent years.
Keep Tintin out (which should be given), and with one nomination Williams is the frontrunner to win. Hasn’t been a good year for original scores so far.
It’s unfair that someone like Alan Menken has more Oscars than Williams. One of the good reasons why Original Song category should be banned from the Oscars.

I’m sorry for john williams, another oscar nom, another loose. This soundtrack is lack. He should have won for MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA. And the one for Tintin, it’s the same for this. I don’t get it, why is so much love to score a spielberg film. Why he doesn’t return to score the finale of Harry Potter?

I still can’t get that tune from the trailer out of my head. Is so sweeping and emotional. That Oscar is already yours, John 🙂

I really don’t like that poster (cover art?). So cheesy.

I loved John Williams’ scores for “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Jaws” (where would THAT film be without its music?) and “Angela’s Ashes”, so I’m looking forward to this.
On a totally unrelated note here, but you guys (Sasha and Ryan) need to list Anonymous in these nominations categories: Best Supporting Actress (Vanessa Redgrave), Best Costume Design, Best Musical Score, Best Cinematography, and Best Art Direction. ABSOLUTELY. Not sure how it will fair, but the production values in this film were eye-popping. And, if nothing else, the Elizabethan costumes in the past have always been included in the Academy’s nomination lists for this category (“Mary, Queen of Scots”, “Shakespeare in Love”, “Anne of a Thousand Days”, “Elizabeth”, and “Elizabeth: The Golden Years”). Sorry, it’s just a given. And in the case of a Best Costume nomination for “Anonymous”, a most deserved one.

It should get nominated, and if the movie itself does well, Williams will win this.

I collect soundtracks, and this is the one that I can’t wait to get my hands on this year. The samples and the tracks released so far have been better than what I have been anticipating.

This really let’s you know that so many scores these days lack feeling. The best track – The Reunion – isn’t anywhere I can find. No Man’s Land kicks ass.
Ryan, you posted the Seeding video twice.
Thanks, Rashad.
Fixed.
