Taje a look, Academy- this actually looks like a classy “Best Picture”-lineup!

  5. Bolitari says:

AND A CESAR HONOUR FOR KATE WINSLET !!!!

  6. James says:

The King’s Speech is still making waves!

  7. Gregoire says:

The King’s Speech is going to be nominated for something every year for the rest of our lives!

  8. Watermelons says:

HMM… The King’s Speech made it, but no The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? Mayhaps some anti-Fincher, anti-feminist sentiments in this crop. Unless TGWTDT is on next year’s eligibility list, then it had better make an appearance! Then again, you can’t always get what you want. I think we all saw that last year when The King’s Speech disrespectfully won over David Fincher’s The Social Network.

In the top film prize, Le Havre has been the film I’ve evangelized to friends and coworkers so it’d be nice to see it recognized SOMEWHERE :D

  9. Dominik says:

“Mayhaps some anti-Fincher, anti-feminist sentiments in this crop”

And obviously some sentiments against black people too? Where is “The Help”??

    ;-=

Is this supposed to be some kind of inside jab at me? Listen guys, you don’t want me without the things I care about. Then you get the most bland coverage on the web imaginable. No one would read, no one would comment. So stop complaining. :-)

  12. Sasha Stone says:

And p.s. Poliss is hella overrated. It’s okay but it goes on WAY WAY WAY too long. If they don’t appreciate Fincher that’s their own damned problem.

  13. brainypirate says:

I wonder if their foreign-language film nominees are first submitted by the country or it they’re chosen by French voters. It’d be interesting to know if The King’s Speech was actually a popular movie among French filmmakers.

  14. Ryan Adams says:

Unless TGWTDT is on next year’s eligibility list…

    Likely the case.
Dragon Tattoo only opened in France once week ago, Jan 19.

(and had a $3.3mil opening. Right in line with the $2.9mil opening for the other adaptation. So TGWTDT will be collecting about $15mil in France to add to its worldwide total)

  15. Nicolas says:

For The Help it’s a book sells success but a very big flop in theaters, the subject is more important in american history than for most part of Europe. For the girl with a dragonn tatoo, the film was not illegibale this year because it went out in France in January 2012, so don’t be absurd about anti femnisit thing or even worst…
For your information, all members of the French academy can vote for the foreign language film, so its about love for a movie, and i’m glad to found there Drive…

  16. Dominik says:

“Is this supposed to be some kind of inside jab at me?”

    Sasha, I wouldn´t dare!
