  1. Yet to see The Artist (still!) but love the rest of the picks, especially Fassy, Colman and all the love for A Separation. Wish the BAFTA nominations could have reflected this one more!

  7. Yay for Fassbender and for A Separation. Hopefully the Academy will honor A Separation despite it not being made in Hollywood.

  9. Best Supporting Actress: Sareh Bayat, A Separation. Very nice list of winners. This group doesn’t care about predicting the OSCARS or BAFTA. Very refreshing.

  13. I am very pleased to see some recognition given to Kenneth Branagh’s performance in “My Week With Marilyn”. If I were a member of the Academy, he’d get my vote for Best Supporting Actor this year. His histrionics and interpretation of Laurence Olivier was very astute, funny, and executed to perfection.

Also like the love for screenplay (“A Separation”).

  17. Streep winning BAFTA could push her to an OSCAR win. England love Meryl and The Iron Lady.

  18. Fassbender is the Best Actor, not just Best British Actor. Either give the man full recognition or STFU. Enough with that make-up crap already.

I was hoping that BAFTA would award Fassbender since they stra from the race from time to time (didn`1t they award that Billy Ellott kid when the race was between Russell and Tom?). But this London cop out doesn`t bode well for his win. They`ll most likely jump on Clooney bandwaggon.

  19. Will the intensified campaign for tougher additional sanctions on Iran hurt the chances of A Separation at the Oscars?

  21. considering how Margaret have been popping up here and there in the last weeks, I wouldn’t be in shock if Paquin makes the cut… when you come to consider everything, Paquin’s Oscar was too soon and too long ago, she has proven she ain’t a fluke in any ways, has become a star that’s been making some really good career choices and keeps out of scandals and the “pink” media. Plus her activism for the LGTB community has earned her extra points… ’cause seriously, does a bisexual in Hollywood really get benefits from coming out?

I do really respect Paquin, if only 1 of out every 5 child actors could be able to stay focused and grow up in the same way… I would be delighted if BOTH Paquin and Dunst were nom’d. 2 of the best child actors of all time, and with basically, the same age…
