Eastwood & Broderick, Superbowl ad favorites
Life moves pretty fast. Hear the roar of our engines. Let’s find out who directed* this Chrysler ad so we’ll remember his roots when he’s up for an Oscar in a few years. Ferris Bueller redux, after the cut.
*Answer: David Gordon Green (thanks, scott ferguson) So this ad is way beyond roots and up in the high branches as a fresh bud.

Supposedly David Gordon Green directed it. He also shot a second one with Al Pacino.
Yes, I loved the Eastwood commercial even though it wasn’t the typical sort people tune in for.
I love how Halftime in America has crawled up the butts of conservatives and they’ve been squirming all day about how it’s pro-auto industry bailout.
Other favorites? Which ads were the most controversial? (I haven’t seen but a few of yesterday’s ads. Tell me which ones I need to seek out.)
The Jerry Seinfeld-Acura NSX ad was probably my favorite. Plus the old NSX’s were boss cars.
I didn’t actually catch any of them yesterday but watched them all on the Youtube channel- http://www.youtube.com/adblitz

If you haven’t seen George Washington and All the Real Girls, you really should. Green’s gone on to more commercial stuff and that’s a shame, hopefully he’ll go back to his roots and really uncork some more amazing films.
and I forgot about Snow Angels! not as good as his first two, but I would take it any day over 90& of the crap the studios put out
UGH, this is the David Gordon Green I miss. I hope he comes back b/c he shows here that he’s still capable of capturing Americana in a Malick-esque way but with his own flair.
I don’t like the ferris bueller one. all it is doing is repeating famous scenes from the first movie. there should be a little more wit and originality to it.
