First Look: Brad Pitt in Cogan’s Trade
Cogan’s Trade, written and directed by Andrew Dominick, last seen directing Pitt in the marvelous The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, described this way, “Jackie Cogan is a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game.”
One more after the cut. More at JustJared:
Somehow in the below pic, I don’t think Richard Jenkins is saying to Pitt this line from Burn After Reading, “In many ways, I was much happier then.”

Yes! The book this was based on was full of awesome. Pulpy, smart, perfect dialogue…Very excited.
this is very exciting. brad pitt has been doing excellent work for a while now.
pitt has proved that ppl always overlook his talent just because of his suprtstar status.. too bad for him and Jessy James was a big snub…
“The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” was one of my favorite movies of the last decade, so I can’t wait for this.
He really is a great actor.
@ aaron b ““The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” was one of my favorite movies of the last decade, so I can’t wait for this.”
i completely agree. this is at the top of my most anticipated of 2012
Brad Pitt? Meh. Take a look at the rest of the cast. Mendelsohn (stunning in “Animal Kingdom”), Gandolfini, Jenkins, Liotta, Shepard, Curatola, Dillahunt. We’re in for a serious treat.
This article has nothing to do with Streep or the Berlin Film Festival.
Stop trolling and do something better with your time.
The only thing that could make this better would be to have Roger Deakins on board again. Jesse James had some of the finest cinematography.
Deakins went digital and “Skyfall” will be his true test. Because “In time” was actually a shit movie, but the first digital that Deakins was making. Greig Fraser may not be a worthy successor on paper, but let the man do his job. He has his test right here and after watching “Let me in”, I truly hope he’ll succeed.
“one some”?? I have to learn to proofread.

fixed
i cannot wait for this. maybe this will finally get pitt his overdue win? i honestly cant think of another actor that has consistently made great role choices and knocked them out of the park as much as he has.
I’ve alaways felt that Pitt manages to star in great films, but doesn’t always give great performances. Having said that The Assassination was amazing and he was overlooked for it, but I wouldn’t say he is overdue. Looking forward to Cogan for the cast if nothing else.
I’ve been really excited for this one! A promising director, a great lead actor, and an interesting storyline! It has to be good!
One of the most potentially exciting films of the year. The Assassination of Jesse James ranks alongside the best films of the past decade and features what remains Pitt’s very best performance to date.
Just hope Dominik is treated better by the Weinsteins than he was by Warners, who unceremoniously dumped one of the best films they’ve produced since L.A. Confidential by barely releasing Jesse James.
Hopefully the “Drive of 2012″
Very nice
