How Many Film Titles Can You Name?
Open Culture just posted this video where each letter of the alphabet has a film represented. I caught a few on first pass – but how many can you name without having to stop and start?

I got 13 on my first viewing, no stopping.
I got all but N and Q on the first time!
What is “M”?
“Q” is the Quick and the Dead? I hear Hackman…
I missed a, e, k, m, o, q, y, z.
@Mac
“M” is My Neighbour Totoro.
I got all of them on the first try except a(cus I wasn’t ready), and z.
Amelie
Big Lebowski
Citizen Kane
Die Another Day
E-
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
G-
Hobbit? It’s not Lord of the Rings or any of the individual titles, Fellowship, Two Towers, or Return of the King
Inception
Jurrassic Park
King’s Speech
Lawrence of Arbia? Have only seen 30 minutes of it though
M-
N-
O-
P- Pulp Fiction
Q-
R-
S- Star Wars
T- Titanic
U-
V- Vertigo
W- Wizard of Oz
X-
Z-
Can someone fill in the rest?
*Y
My guess on X is X-Men, but I haven’t seen any of them so idk
Oh God, can’t believe I missed The Godfather, lol.
R should have been Rear Window instead of Rocky…and maybe it’s been too long seen I’ve seen that film but wtf is recognizable as Rocky?
Amelie
Big Lebowski
Citizen Kane
Die Another Day
Edward Scissorhands
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Godfather
Hobbit?
Inception
Jurrassic Park
King’s Speech
Lawrence of Arabia
My Neighbor Totoro
Night of the Living Dead??
Once Upon a Time in the West
Pulp Fiction
Quick and the Dead
Rocky
Star Wars
Titanic
Up
Vertigo
Wizard of Oz
X-Men
Yojimbo
Z?
Scott,
I suppose that circle is the view from above of a boxing “ring”
and you can hear Stallone hollering “Adrian!”
which I always hear as the ass-end opposite of Brando yelling “Stella!”
Ah, ok. I’m still finding it odd that they’ve got a yet unreleased film in The Hobbit on there, lol.
And Z is supposedly Zodiac, but that’s ridiculously hard to pick up as I think it’s on the screen less time then the rest and there’s nothing all that recognizable like the cypher or whatever.
Hmm, I never heard “Adrian”, if I had that would have been obvious. And yeah I guess so but boxing rings aren’t round :p
Oh shit that’s right, Zodiac killer’s symbol was a cross-hair, wasn’t it?
You’re right though — so many other better choices for ‘R’
Raging Bull
Rosemary’s Baby
Rashomon
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Reservoir Dogs
…heck, Robocop would’ve been better.
Yeah, I suppose since they already had a Hitchcock film in there Raging Bull or Raiders would have been great choices. And with that notion I think I’m going to come up with my own Alphabet list…
Several viewings
A = Amelie
B = The Big Lebowski
C = Citizen Kane
D = Dr. No; Diamonds are Forever; Die Another Day
E = Edward Scissorhands
F = Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
G = The Godfather
H = The Hobbit
I = Inception
J = Jurassic Park
K = The King’s Speech
L = Lawrence of Arabia
M = My Neighbor Totoro
N = Night of the Living Dead
O = Once Upon a Time in the West
P = Pulp Fiction
Q = The Quick and the Dead
R = Rocky
S = Star Wars
T = Titanic
U = Up
V = Vertigo
W = The Wizard of Oz
X = X-Men
Y = The Yakuza
Z = Zodiac
Oops, looks like Y is Yojimbo.
I thought D was Dr. No.
I checked, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan didn’t wear a hat in their “gun barrel sequences,” so D is Dr. No.
Good Lord S is a tough decision! Singin’ in the Rain, Some Like It Hot, Strangers on a Train, Shining, Saving Private Ryan, Shawshank Redemption…which do I choose?!
Whoops! I thought “O” was the The Ox-bow Incidnent. I guess I got that wrong too.
Well I haven’t finished putting together my own list yet, but since this is a site focused towards the Oscars this is what a Best Picture alphabet list would look like…
A- American Beauty, Annie Hall, Apartment, etc
B- Braveheart, Ben Hur, etc
C- Casablanca, Chicago, Crash, etc
D- Dances With Wolves, Driving Miss Daisy, Departed
E- English Patient
F- Forrest Gump, From Here To Eternity, French Connection
G- Godfather, Gone with the Wind, Gladiator, etc
H- How Green Was My Valley, Hamlet, Hurt Locker
I- It Happened One Night, In the Heat of the Night
K- Kramer vs. Kramer, King’s Speech
L- Lawrence of Arabia, Lost Weekend, Lord of the Rings, etc
M- Marty, Midnight Cowboy, Million Dollar Baby, etc
N- No Country for Old Men
O- One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, On the Waterfront, Ordinary People, etc
P- Patton, Platoon
Q-
R- Rebecca, Rain Man, Rocky
S- Schindler’s List, Silence of the Lambs, Shakespeare in Love, etc
T- Terms of Endearment, Titanic
U- Unforgiven
V-
W- West Side Story
X-
Y- You Can’t Take It With You
Z-
The AMPAS needs to get cracking on finding a Q, V, X, and Z winner, lol :p
Oh, and J as well…I missed that one, but there haven’t been any.
This is pretty amazing. Did you guys notice that every letter is visually represented in some way?
This isn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be. I’m embarrassed to admit that I only got 11 on the first try – no stopping.
Fun!
Z is The Zodiac Killer
