Judd Apatow and Lena Dunham’s Girls Coming to HBO in April

The trailer:

This appears to be a frank, honest look at what it is to be young-er women trying to figure life out, which usually translates into trying to figure men or boys out. I really hope it’s more than that because if women are its target audience it really has to go deeper. Enlightened and Hung are really great shows on HBO that explore things women think about and talk about that don’t necessarily have to do with meeting Prince Charming. I’m excited to see Girls, anyway.

you seen “tiny furniture”? she was really good in that. i finally watched it 2-3 weeks ago amidst the controversy over it being added to the criterion collection. definitely looking forward to this show as well.

  4. Yeah I saw it. I was sort of “EH” on it but I admire her in general so I’ll be as supportive as I can until I can’t anymore.

  9. As much as I admire Dunham’s drive, I thought TINY FURNITURE to be a disappointment. A big frustrating MEH. I’m not a fan of Dunham’s sense of comedy, and I thought the relationships in the film were half-baked. Now with GIRLS, I fear the same thing. And it’s like her New York is 21st-century Woody Allen, now that he works in Europe. So she couldn’t, in all her work so far, have anyone NOT white, and self-obsessed?
