Mondo Oscar Posters
Mondo, the collectible art boutique of the Alamo Drafthouse, announces its first ever Academy Awards poster series, featuring limited edition prints of their favorite nominated films in select categories.
There will be four posters. First two after the cut.

It was announced last year that Mondo has partnered with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences to archive all prints for their research library.

Of course I prefer the blue version of Hugo which I guess is the more expensive one.
I also prefer the blue Hugo one, though the brown one ain’t shabby no way no how.

Zane, the way I understand it, limited editions will be for sale on Oscar night.
I suspect for about 2 minutes before they’re all sold out.

Yes, you have to follow Mondo on Twitter. It’s the only place they announce it…and yes, they are seriously gone within 5 minutes. I’ve never been able to successfully get one I wanted. A co-worker did get one once though. These will go quick b/c they are so awesome. Sometimes you can score one if it’s a bit lame…like the still available Gremlins 2 one they still have on there.
I’ve got a few Mondo posters and grabbing one is pretty difficult. The Drive drop recently was hard. This will be even harder. I love the Rango one. May I suggest anybody who’s interested to just keep refreshing the website instead of waiting on twitter or facebook as by the time it’s announced on facebook or twitter the posters are gone. F5 is your friend when trying to buy a Mondo poster.
There’s a reason why the Academy added the Mondo collection to its archive, these things are simply beautiful in person.

Geez, the last thing Viola Davis needs is over exposure (no pun intended).
Anyone here get one? I got Bridesmaids and Hugo and was stoked. I didn’t try for the other two. I got the blue Hugo. I didn’t feel comfortable trying for the variant b/c there were so few. I didn’t want to get through checkout to have them sold out and it be too late to go back and get the standard. Really excited to get them in the house! Hugo is definitely getting a nice frame job and going in my living room.
