Most boring trailer ever for a movie like this. The CGI stuff looked almost laughable. I’m having a hard time buying Garfield. All that said, I’d watch just about anything with Emma Stone in it.

It IS too soon after the last Spiderman, but how can anyone not trust the man who made (500) Days Of Summer?

Oh geez itll probably be better than the overrated ‘Social Network’ lol! seriously however beyond oscar this is somnething that interests me more the idea that a change of director and change of actor can make or break? an already engaging and exciting film franchise? what the saying when it aint broke dont fix it?
Maguire was good i would have thought a change of director to make it darker which makes sensewhat they dfone i guess but also to change the actor? that where i think i afaid i mite have lower expectations when i see it- IF i think its worth it- if maguire were in it i say for sure he adaptedas the story got darker.
It often at ones own peril they change the central character’s actor in a film more so than success. ie whoever cast whoever it was in ‘Superman Returns’ was a huge mistake and a no of pple agree- he totalluy lacked even at least half the charm, charisma, modesty and determination of the great Christopher Reeve it was a franchise that got dead before it got resurrected a wasted resurrectyion i hope for hollywood’s sake and for ours that not the cruel fate that awaits what looks to be a prequel.

Garfield looks perfect and this incarnation looks darker (as do all superhero genre re-boots in an attempt at “seriousness”), but do we need it? I’m thinking the world might be Spidermaned-out.

Hmmm… this definitely gives off a formula action-flick vibe. Not nearly as fun, comic-booky, or character-oriented as Raimi’s contributions to the franchise.

I kind of thought the idea of a Spider-Man reboot could actually be pretty fun, even if it’s so close to the last movies, but seeing the trailer, I felt a sort of Spidey fatigue. Are we really going to have to go through the origin story again? Color me less excited post-trailer than I was pre.

While the film is loaded with talent (from it’s director to hot young leads) I tend to agree with the poster above who questions whether this film is necessary and whether the world is Spidermaned-out. Again, with the talent involved there is actually a pretty good chance this is an interesting film and take on the character.
I know that’s sort of a superficial judgement to make, but given that this is an action picture with effects that completely take me out of the film rather than immerse me in it, I can’t say it bodes well for the film’s prospects.

Emma Stone looks really, really strange in this. She looks like an actor instead of a character every time she’s on screen.
I am also sick of superhero movies. After DKR I’m going on sabbatical.

I loved (500), and TSN. I think Stone and Garfield are fantastic actors (the latter should totally have been nominated last year.)
That said, this trailer looks awful and did nothing to interest or engage me. Almost like a TDK wannabe. Guess I’ll wait for the critics on this one.

Yeah but this film is still in post right? They’ve got plenty of time to polish the CGI. but yeah, that bit at the end looked especially suspish.

I wonder how much of the audience’s time they’re going to waste with all the origin stuff. Same with Man of Steel. WE KNOW! GET ON WITH IT!
KJB, a little soon to be saying that about Man of Steel, right? We know the characters, but not the plot.

Wow, this left a lot to be desired in my eyes…..and I thought I was the only one who thought Stone looked odd until I noticed another poster say the same above me….
I don’t think this is just a Garfield vs. Maguire issue….this is something much larger…what it is remains to be seen unless we have a so-so trailer preceding what actually turns out to be a good film. It happens. From time………………………………………to time.
This looks….more thoughtful, less fun? I’ll miss Tobey since he was so great but Stone and Garfield have their charms.
