it’s a promo especially made to fill in some backstory for Prometheus, but it’s not a scene from the movie itself.

Soooo, this is showing shades of Blade Runner more than Alien. Is he trying to make us all freak the fuck out by tying his two greatest movies together??

All just random rambling, but there has been talk or speculation of Theron playing a sort of villianous role, be interesting if she was actually a first generation android meant to resemble a human but didn’t know it until they discover something on the planet and her programming forces her to protect it, even if if goes all ‘alien’ on them.
So I guess they’re just going to disregard the AVP movies? THANK. GOD. FOR. THAT. Let this film erase them from all of our memories.

@Mel: I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a natural fit to me… who knows what was going on on Earth while Ripley and crew were flying aroud in space?
After all, Scott IS developing a sequel to “Blade Runner”, and Harrison Ford is in talks to return as well:
I don’t know why. I’m not a huge fan of Alien or anything but I feel like not knowing anything about this and just seeing it. So I didn’t watch it.
Useless comment is useless.

Holy, did not know this. It would be pretty amazing if this one tied the two together and set up the Blade Runner sequel. LOVE.
This is going to be a great year for me at the movies….so many I am looking forward to in the most fanatical way!

That Harrison Ford/Blade Runner rumor has been debunked. Sorry to tell ya. I personally think Blade Runner is overrated BUT .. I love the Alien movies so I’m hoping Prometheus is more the latter.
That being said, this was a cool little promo. Guy Pierce at his cheesiest and corniest best and somehow it still worked. Loved that last line, plus one of my all time favs as well (like steve) from one of my all time favorite films.

The scene was kind of pretentious but Guy Pearce nailed it. A good reminder of how many chances Oscar has chosen to snub him – Priscilla and Memento being the two most shameful ones.
Lol, was he good in Priscilla. But facing Landau and Samuel L. Jackson for competition was probably too much.

I won’t watch the second trailer in fear of spoilers or too much information, but I will watch these viral videos if their as clever as that. Did anyone get a 1984 Apple commercial vibe to that vid or is it just me?

Sadly, this clip is better than anything Ridley has done in ages, with the exception of Kingdom of Heaven.
That it was directed by his son doesn’t surprise me.

@Mel. Exactly what I though watching this. Is Prometheus connected to Alien or Blade Runner …. or perhaps even both? Either way I could not be more excited about seeing this film.
Can I just say: yiah – can´t wait

The trick is not minding that this scene blew the socks off my feet. Dare I say, welcome back, Ridley Scott, I’ve missed you for quite a while?
Note – it’s not a scene from the movie and it wasn’t directed by Scott.
^Actually it was directed by Scott, just not Ridley- it’s directed by his son Luke.
NICE! Love that they used my favorite movie line of all time, too.
Whoops my bad.
That was all sorts of awesome.
Wait, is the clip from Prometheus or some other movie? I’m confused…
