I completely trust Boal (and Bigelow) to give us a great film. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of H’wood bull about him, perhaps because he hasn’t been around long enough and his journalistic background doesn’t make room for it. Best line, though, was from Haneke, speaking about the filmmakers responsibility that “entails enabling your audience to remain independent and free of manipulation.” Respectful of his audience and their ability to form their own opinions. Ken I love Haneke, but it kind of kills the flow of conversation when he’s answering the questions because, I presume, they have to wait and then later listen to the translator. A minor complaint really, now that I think about it, but still. PaulH Breaking news: Silver Linings Playbook national release will be drastically different than planned: http://www.deadline.com/2012/11/the-silver-linings-playbook-shifts-to-platform-rollout/ “The Weinstein Company initially had planned to open the David O. Russell picture wide on Thanksgiving weekend, but now says The Silver Linings Playbook will open in about 16 theaters in 10 cities this weekend. Then it will expand into 440 locations over Thanksgiving weekend. That’s down from the company’s previous estimate of 2,000. Weinstein probably will add more cinemas weekly through December, possibly reaching 2,000+ locations after New Year’s.” Things that make you go ‘hmmmmmm’…. His voice, his inflections, even the mannerisms. EricD crazy how the hollywood reporter was touting this as their “most diverse” roundtable ever. a bunch of white guys. thr is breaking down barriers, boy oh boy! insanity.
