Williams also announced that Kathy Connell, who has been a producer of the SAG Awards® since its inception, has been named Executive Producer, working alongside SAG Awards Executive Producer/Director Jeff Margolis, whose Jeff Margolis Productions has produced the SAG Awards telecast since 1999. Margolis, an Emmy® and DGA Award-winner, has directed the SAG Awards simulcast since 2007.
Connell served as chair of the SAG Awards® Committee and a Producer for Screen Actors Guild during the SAG Awards’ first two years. She stepped down from her position on the SAG Board of Directors to become the Awards’ first full-time producers in 1996. In 2007, she was appointed Executive Producer, National Programming for Screen Actors Guild and began overseeing the SAG Special Projects department as well as many SAG initiatives. Currently SAG-AFTRA’s Assistant National Executive Director of Awards and National Programming, she oversees SAG-AFTRA Special Projects, the SAG Awards, the AFTRA Media and Entertainment Excellence Awards (The AMEES) and serves as liaison to both the SAG and AFTRA Foundations.
The SAG Awards’ separate film and television nominating committees are randomly selected anew each year from around the country. SAG-AFTRA members who have not served on the same nominating committee in the past eight years, who are actor/performers, singers, dancers or stunt performers and who have paid their November 2012 membership dues by February 28, 2013, will be eligible to serve on one of this year’s committees. Each committee is comprised of 2,100 SAG-AFTRA members.
Submissions for nomination consideration for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will open on Monday, July 8, 2013, at sagawards.org/submissions. With the actor’s permission, producers, studios/networks, agents, managers, or publicists may submit a performance from 2013 for consideration in a category of the actor’s choosing. Actors may also submit their own performances. Submissions may only be made online, in keeping with a commitment to environmentally sound practices that has earned the SAG Awards the Environmental Media Association’s Green Seal for four consecutive years.
Nominations for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood, carried live on TNT, tntdrama.com and www.tbs.com. Once nominees are selected, all active members of SAG-AFTRA living in the United States may cast votes to determine who will receive the coveted Actor® statuettes for this year’s outstanding performances.
Of the top industry honors presented to actors, only the SAG Awards are selected entirely by performers’ peers in SAG-AFTRA. The SAG Awards was the first televised awards show to acknowledge the work of union members and the first to present ensemble and cast awards.
TNT and TBS will present the live simulcast of the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT).

I wonder if two key Oscar targeted films scheduled to be released after 10 December ‘Grace of Monaco’ and ‘The Monument’s Men’ might get pre-poned if the season is being brought forward due to the Winter Olympics?
Cannot wait for Kate “The GREAT” Winslet (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Iris) to be announced as (hopefully!!) a nominee at this year’s SAG award nominations announcement and (FINGERS CROSSED!!) as a winner at January 2014’s SAG awards ceremony.
