I can’t wait to see this movie and I really want to read the book too. It looks magnificent and Chiwitel Eijofor is incredible.
I’m actually crying right now. 🙁
That’s a really fine featurette, giving the background of the story rather than highlighting the film itself. It offers meaning and will ultimately make the film resonate with viewers.
I still urge everyone to read the book, reading Northup’s own words is spellbinding.
Just in that small clip you can see the pain, feat, confusion and anger in Chiwetel Ejiofor’s eyes. Remarkable. Can’t wait to see this film.
Seems like I’ve been waiting forever for this, but barely keeping expectations under control.
Note to the Academy: Better reconsider previous prejudices against black film and sci-fi this year because between TYAS and Gravity, plus a slew of smaller efforts like Fruitvale, you’ll look pretty silly if they are overlooked.
It appears that Cuaron and McQueen have arrived in style
I was tearing up just from that. October cannot come soon enough.
I honestly can’t wait to see it, looks amazing. Fantastic cast, director, story, if this doesn’t get a slew of awards and nominations I’ll be shocked.
I completely agree. I feel like I have been waiting for a film like this forever. A relatable story about the black experience.
“A bit intense” is probably an understatement, Sally…;)
I want to and I don’t want to see this movie. I will see it, but I think it’s going to a bit intense.
