sin city

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.” Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.

Wow!! That’s stylish as Hell. And pretty damn sexy to boot. It looks like it’s upped the ante since the first one, which was a great film from 2005.

At the rate they’re realeasing these, the third one should be called Before Sin City, just like the every nine years of the Before series.

  • I’ve been waiting for this since the first one ended. Who knew I had this kind of patience? lol

Lookin’ good. Of course, I’m there.

This longer version [3 mins and 24 secs], when combined with the basically similar VFX to its predecessor, didn’t sit well in my book. My first and second impressions were, among others, that the editors seemed to be trying too much to showcase the VFX and, possibly, some otherwise faithful shot-for-shot montages, at the costs of trailer-level basic story-telling, not to mention the relatively inattentive cuts, etc.

Something far and away from being my cup of Japanese sake (sa-keh), English afternoon tea with Arxxxxl “biscuits”, or world-renowned Chinese Oolong. [Thanks, though, for embedding]

[OT: I know Cameron Crowe’s project is reportedly shifted to next year’s release, but anything upcoming about this latest work or any sideline pieces of his would be appreciated]

Anyone not too excited? This is like going on an amazing date with someone, then for whatever reason never going on a second. Then having a couple big relationships. Now you’re single and a decade later you run into amazing date person, and set up another outing. But you’re just. not. that. excited.

  • Longest trailer ever. Looks great. But can’t believe Jessica Chastain is not in this. 😀

Wow, this is how a film-going experience should look like! This is cinema of the highest order. Electric, hypnotizing, breathtaking, totally masterful. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have created a deliciously dark and completely unique universe and this phenomenal red band trailer proves this sequel is ready to surpass even its unforgettable predecessor in the list of the greatest films of all time. Mesmerizing direction, fantastic screenplay, incredible acting, flawless cinematography, outstanding editing and terrific use of the 3D dimension. And Eva Green, my God, she clearly embodies completely the essence of a dame to kill for, like Ava Lord is. I mean, this is pure awesomeness. Can’t wait!!!
