Just when I think this was a bad year for movies, along comes Ben Zuk to represent the year. It’s one of the best things that happens in any year.

Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Thanks Ben. So many wonderful memories of the year that has passed wrapped up in six beautiful minutes.
Just amazing. Thank you so much. That clip almost made me cry, and I never cry!!
Bravo Ben! Makes me appreciate this mediocre year in film a little bit more. So thanks for that.
Thank you to everyone who enjoyed the montage. I look forward to doing it every year and it makes me happy to know that so many others enjoyed watching it.
@Al Robinson- Not really foreshadowing a BP win for Boyhood. I just tend to give the last image to whatever film I think is undoubtedly the film of that year. For example closing images from the last 5 years were: Up, The Social Network, The Artist, Lincoln, and 12 Years a Slave.
@Roberto from Italy- you can find the list of films including by following the vimeo link here- https://vimeo.com/115665606
@Jesus Alonso- Believe it or not Tusk was really close to being included in this montage. Sometimes you just can’t find room for everything.
after watching JoBlo’s… well, they forgot “Stranger by the Lake” but did not forget some Ben Zuk DID forget, as “Open Windows”, “Grand Piano”, “The Green Inferno” or “Tusk”…
So, we can’t have everything. I prefer Zuk’s, anyways.
Spectacular, and nice to see that he didn’t forget to include (though blink and you’ll miss it) a key shot from Stranger by the Lake. And ultranice, he used “Everything is Awesome” 😉
I look forward to these every year. I was watching this one and remembering the year that much of the video was set to “Falling Slowly” from Once. I thought to myself they should always try to use the biggest songs from film for each year, and then when I projected to this year’s biggest movie song, I realized it would be “Everything is Awesome”. That led to a small smile on my face. Two seconds later, what comes on, but “Everything is Awesome”. Huge smile on my face. Really well done.
I love these kinds of videos. Is it possible to know the films featuring in it?
Now I know why I prefer live theater.
Ah, so beautiful! Cinema is everything, nothing can match it.
I agree, I like JoBlo’s 2014 Final Cut better, it is also on YouTube:

And back to 2014 now JoBlo puts together a pretty mean cut (though there is more focus on genre films)
This is one of my favorites from one of the best years of all time-

I cried a little. Great job Ben, thank you very much. It is beautifully edited. It was indeed a great year for film.
I just re-watched 2013’s Salute to Cinema, and the very last frame of that was 12 Years a Slave. This year’s is Boyhood. Are you forshadowing a BP win?
So Fucking Fantastic!! I LOVE these every year since discovering AD. The dancing, the music, the action, Bravo Ben!! 🙂
Well the description reads that it’s a “collection of great films.”
you wish so many shitty movies weren’t included? then it wouldn’t be complete look at the year in film now would it? that doesn’t make sense.
Brilliant again Ben! With a perfect closing shot!
Nicely edited, but I wish so many shitty movies hadn’t been included, especially in the beginning. The section with the song from Boyhood included the best films.
