The Macbeth trailer has arrived starring Michael Fassbender as Macbeth and Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth. The Shakespeare adaptation premiered earlier this year at Cannes and is set to arrive later this year.
Justin Kurzel directs.
Watch the trailer below:
I’m rooting for Marion to get another nomination. I wish more Americans were aware of her French films. I think she’s the best actress of this generation.
Why is this shit not listed for BP on the contender tracker??? Fassbender and Cotillard are listed for Best Actor and Best Actress, but the film is ignored in the other major categories! Are its chances to be a major awards player really that slim?
This looks fantastic, and Fassbender especially is killing it. The few reviews from its Cannes showing are overwhelmingly positive. The film has a release date in the UK–why no release date in the US, since it already has a distributor?
Isn’t this actually just the most disgustingly good-looking movie of the year? Maybe this and Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Cemetery of Splendour and, on the blockbuster front, Mad Max: Fury Road.
The interesting part is that the visual aspect of the film can be adapted to the future Assassin’s Creed film, right?
Really gorgeous film. Just stupidly good lookin’.
Looks cool!
It really does look stunning, doesnt it?
Fassbender, Cotillard, the Cinematography. The Costumes, the heaviness/portent … Im all in.
so looking forward to this.
i remember seeing Polanski’s MACBETH
at the Cinema 21 in Portland when i was in
high school. it was so beautiful and quirky and
violent. i even remember Maurice Evans and
Judith Anderson’s tv version when i was 6 or 7.
didn’t understand a word but the passion and
the ghosts scared me. now this…
it looks glorious. hope it lives up to my expectations.
From this trailer, Macbeth looks like a combination of Gladiator and Braveheart, with a Shakespeare story and dialogue.
It looks really good, and Fassbender looks like he’s in top form.
I hope so too Steve. I hope it gets a release date this year.
I love me some Shakespeare, and the buzz for this movie out of Cannes was really exciting. This trailer does not disappoint.
Definitely one of my most anticipated.
Also, I didn’t notice the first time I watched it (I was too excited for Fassbender and Cotilliard), but the cinematography is absolutely breathtaking. Very stark, very psychological, as it should be.
I’ve been waiting so long for this. Now it’s almost here!
A cinephile’s dream, this trailer.
Looks great.
Now here’s hoping for a decent distribution and a healthy box office so we can have more like it.
Yippee! The trailer is everything I hoped it would be.
I’ll be there on opening weekend. One of my most anticipated movies of the year . . . starring the electric Fassbender and Cotillard. How can they possibly fuck up with great roles like these?
