Los Angeles, CA (February 21, 2017) – Winners have been announced for the 19th CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. Produced by JumpLine and presented by LACOSTE, the annual CDGA gala celebrated excellence in film, television, and short form Costume Design as voted on by the Guild’s membership, which includes more than 900 Costume Designers and Illustrators working in motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos, and new media programs throughout the world.
Mandy Moore (Actress, singer, and songwriter, This Is Us) hosted the gala which celebrated special honorees Lily Collins (Actress), Lois DeArmond (Illustrator), Jeffrey Kurland (Costume Designer), and Meryl Streep (Actress), as well as winners in the 7 additional categories voted on by the Guild’s membership.
Lily Collins was presented with the LACOSTE Spotlight Award, which honors an actor whose talent and career personify an enduring commitment to excellence, including a special awareness of the role and importance of costume design.
Lois DeArmond was awarded with this year’s Distinguished Service Award for his dedication to the craft and art of design.
Jeffrey Kurland received the Career Achievement Award, presented to leaders who have made a lasting impact on Costume Design.
Meryl Streep was honored with the Distinguished Collaborator Award, which honors individuals who demonstrate unwavering support of Costume Design and creative partnerships with Costume Designers.
