It’s not a surprise but it’s still a nice thing. James Ivory took home the adapted screenplay award for Call Me By Your Name, which honors both the source material and the script. It is most certain to win the Oscar. The film is very popular and well liked all around and is the only adapted screenplay that also has a Best Picture nomination, making it a shoo-in.
And for television, the Handmaid’s Tale won.
