This week, the Water Cooler Gang is joined by a listener to discuss the Big Little LiesSeason 2 finale and the merits and overall purpose of Season 2. Plus, CATS!
This week at the Water Cooler, we’re joined by listener Jim Keller to discuss the second season (series?) finale of HBO’s Big Little Lies. We talk about the usual topics: what worked, what didn’t, and was this additional season necessary? And do we want a Season 3? Plus, our final predictions on awards potential for the series. Is Meryl Streep really a Big Little Lies done deal in upcoming Supporting Actress races?
But first, this was a fairly significant week for trailers. First up, on the TV front, we have a new look at HBO’s upcoming Watchmen series from Damon Lindelof. Then, Westworld revealed a sneak peak at Season 3 or Westworld III. Finally, we ask the question, “Where were you when you saw the trailer to Tom Hooper’s CATS?” Plus, we take a belated look at Midsommar.
We close our podcast, as always, with the Flash Forward to the media we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.
Thanks for listening and thank you, in advance, for subscribing and rating us on iTunes!
I’m half way thru the season. Everyone in the show is pissing me off. I don’t know why, but it’s all very annoying. I actually feel like either Meryl Streep was miscast or her character was not well written. I suspect maybe both. We’ll see how the last half of the episodes go…
There’s definitely a lot of people who feel that way. She seems divisive right now. I know Megan wasn’t a fan, although I think she came around with the finale.
I praise the acting to the high heavens .. amazing work from all. But the season, as a whole, was underwhelming compared to the first one.
I am sort of in the same boat. The acting is amazing, but it’s a very different, less “fun” show than the first season.
