With David Rubin now at the top, probably that will quiet at least some of the criticisms hitting the Academy of late, since the ousting of John Bailey. Or it could be like a leaky raft. Once you patch one spot, another one springs up in its place. I wish Rubin the best of luck in deflecting the torrents of criticism that are bound to head his way in the coming year.
Scott Feinberg’s report is over at The Hollywood Reporter.
I know nothing about him. Is this a good thing? Will he be progressive in letting in younger blood and POC? Will he make the changes that started to be made to diversify the Academy?
And coincidentally the BAFTAs are adding a casting award. Will Oscar follow suit?
I was just about to post this, it’s curious that both happened on the same day, could the 2 actually be related?
