The AFIFest have named A Prophet one of their official selection. I believe this is a new trailer for the film:

One never can say for sure but this one seems like a sure bet for the one of the Foreign Language Five. The AFI Fest has an official YouTube channel as well.

This is an excellent film and a step forward for the director. I thought perhaps it could have be cut by 15 minutes or so but one of the better films I viewed in Toronto. A memorable performance by the lead actor, which the Academy will overlook to their shame.
I agree that this will be in the top 5. awardcontenders.com has an interesting prediction page on the other 4. You always have to watch out for Italy. They seem to own the category.
My favorite movie so far this year. Tahar Rahim should be in consideration for Best Actor, but he surely won’t be.
I thought it was brilliant. I doubt I’ll see a better performance this year than Tahar Rahim’s. He has something of Al Pacino’s early quiet intensity. I love Audiard, I love European art cinema (and I’m not sure the French variety has ever before been so outstanding in a single release year). Audiard’s narratives are so strong (2 ½ hours fly by) and his central characters are always complex individuals with convincing arcs. Like so many current European art house films the directorial style is assured yet not consistently flashy – which makes their more visually poetic moments or cinematic flourishes all the more powerful. And the stories tend to be more naturalistic and organic in ways that make it harder to predict where they are going.
[...] Cannes, we featured a very short teaser for the film. Now we have another full-length trailer (via Awards Daily), but unfortunately it’s still only in French without English subtitles. A Prophet also just [...]
It’s still the best film, so far, that I have seen this year.
I agree with daveylow : could have been cut by 15 minutes.
Still a good movie with a great leading performance.
I don’t always think films should be cut, especially one as fine as this one, but the violence became repetitious, almost deadening.
“…the violence became repetitious, almost deadening.”
I think a bit of deadening repetition is entirely appropriate and effective for a prison film. Prison is all about the deadening repetition.
I try to ask myself, what 15 minutes would I cut? I’d hate to give up a single scene in Un prophète.

You’re right, but around the hour (if I remember correctly) there is some fall in the rhythm. In a movie that’s so much about (and so great at) editing, that’s noticeable. Anyway, it’s one of the year’s best.
