Indeed a cool idea having the writing backwards, though I would like to see a poster with something more than just Mr. Pitt’s face. ‘Cause this makes it seem the picture could have been taken from anywhere. Seeing this you wouldn’t even think it’s part of benjamin Button, the only thing referring to the film are the letters and the fact that Pitt stars in it, other than that there’s nothing Benjamin Button-esque about it.

This is probably part one of two, with Cate Blancett having her face on the other with all the words going the right way.

i think it’s a great design but as marketing move, it’s pretty dumb…

it may work for some people, but a movie this risky (as all David Fincher movies are) putting the name backwards so that people can’t read it it’s ridiculous…

if it were the new Adam Sandler movie I don’t care, don’t even bother putting the name of the movie if they don’t want to, but this movie? I don’t think so…

and they could’ve invested in some really cool pictures that turn when you look away (I forgot the word) so that when you look at it one way it’s a young Pitt and then when you look at it from another spot it’s an old Pitt…or something like that….or show stages of Pitt getting older…

So if this is a double sided one sheet, the reverse side would be . . . correct? I wonder how many theaters will put it up wrong.

  7. GeorgeP November 12th, 2008 at 5:22 pm 7

PERFECT POSTER AND PROBABLY AN AMAZING MOVIE!BY THE WAY, I WANT TO SEE BOTH FINCHER AND BLANCHETT WIN SOOO BADLY! AM I THE ONLY ONE?

  8. Jeff November 12th, 2008 at 9:54 pm 8

Some posters are printed with the reverse image on the back. I know I’ve bought a few where it’s printed on both sides with the back in reverse. It’s possible that this was the case…and then the theatre just put it up wrong…

Had a chance to catch this two days ago at private screening. This should get easily carried by critics to multiple noms at Oscars and Globes. This Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett’s show. Brad should be safely in and I would be surprised if Cate does not get nominated for this. If she managed to do that for TGA last year, there is no reason to doubt about this. Fincher should easily make it and Screenplay should be considered the frontrunner for now.

Jeff, If you look, “Christmas Day” is correct.

…alright then. That’s sure to draw in viewers…
