Whither Todd McCarthy? JustJared points us to this Benjamin Button review in Variety written not by Todd McCarthy but by Robert Abele, who writes:
A shimmering melancholic romance about the most unusual of criss-crossing lovers — a man (Brad Pitt) who ages from infirmity to infancy, and a woman (Cate Blanchett) who grows old like we all — “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.

Ah I can’t wait any longer!
“emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era”
Really? I thought Hollywood glamour in its golden era was limited to fashion as quoted in Project Runway so often. Also, what exactly is “emotional glamour”? And what era? 70’s? 40’s?
Dubious.
It’s not a review, dude.
Sounds magical.
Blanchett is my favorite working actress, so I’m really excited for the great things I’m hearing about her.
