This is the best score in 5 years. Absolutely fucking INCREDIBLE. I haven’t in so long been so moved, touched, truly inspired by a musical score, one imbued with so much magic and enchanting spirit.
We have our Oscar winner. Guaranteed. Nothing tops this.
Gorgeous.
And I just discovered Focus Features’ Milk page, where you can download the screenplay and listen to Danny Elfman’s score.
……Although I’m sure everyone else has already beat me to it.
What’s with all these scores appearing online in near complete form? Wow, thanks to Firefox I’ve got ‘em on my computer now. Brilliant stuff.
Oh and what’s the link to the site with the screenplay and the Elfman score? I can’t seem to find it. Thanks!
I think it’s going to be a close race between Thomas Newman and Alexandre Desplat.
Though, I am sure Thomas has it in the bag with WALL-E (he also has Revolutionary Road coming up).
He’s been nominated so many times and (wrongfully) hasn’t won. Little Woman is an iconic score already…and that was just the beginning…
You can see the Milk site here:

Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack is out on itunes and is just brilliant.

Sureshot noms for Best Score and Best Song [“Jai Ho” by A R Rahman featuring Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah & Mahalaxmi Iyer]
Oh yeah, Benjamin Button’s a shoe-in for an Oscar nom. Definitely the best score I’ve listened to this year.
