awww Catinca Untaru! She was too adorable in The Fall.

I think people are slowly hopping on the Wall-E bandwagon…it’s like the LAFCA sparked something.

I mean, even a Best Director nominee? It’s pretty awesome.

    3. Jake December 15th, 2008 at 9:57 pm 3

I’m still clueless as to how Tropic Thunder gets a nod for Best Ensemble anywhere. It’s a pretty good film, but, really, getting an ensemble nod over Milk, Benjamin Button, and The Dark Knight? Otherwise, good choices! ;)

Wow Elizabeth Banks ! Weird choice … but cool. Nice for Wall-E, TDK and the wrestler. Cool to see DeWitt, Rebecca Hall and Dev Patel.

both the dark knight and wall-e are getting nominated at every awards possible. tdk is getting more locked each day and wall-e is going the same path. i think the precursor that will define if wall-e and tdk will get in the final 5 is the bafta.

why don’t the Detroit critics aknowledge writing?

    9. RichardA December 16th, 2008 at 12:03 am 9

I need to point out the lack of love for Gran Torino….the movie was filmed in Detroit.

    10. Ryan Adams December 16th, 2008 at 12:05 am 10

…and what a flattering depiction of Detroit it is, RichardA. ;-)

    11. Robert Hamer December 16th, 2008 at 1:08 am 11

No nomination for Kristin Scott Thomas? Well, there goes my respect for Detroit…

    12. Ziyad Abul Hawa December 16th, 2008 at 1:26 am 12

No Viola Davis? That’s shocking. I guess Amy Adams is really going to get a nomination this year.

    13. Steven Ray Morris December 16th, 2008 at 3:21 am 13

Yay Eddie Marsan gets more love. I know he won’t win, but I hope he gets a nod at least come Oscar time.

    14. taitzu December 16th, 2008 at 3:28 am 14

      No Scott Thomas again? Buhh.

    15. Gregoire December 16th, 2008 at 11:10 am 15

      Catinca Untaru is wonderful!
