Quantcast

Han…

Posted by Susan Thea Posnock On June - 20 - 2008

While searching around for images on Will Smith I happened upon this one, from Cinematically Correct, a really groovy site that offers up a scale of greatness from SPAM to Kubrick:

This is as vulgar as it’s going to get on Cinematically Correct. It’s not like I typed that word or anything and this is too funny to ignore.

Apparently, a guy took a break after removing the “Han” from this sign in London yesterday. So I guess we have found the one guy on the planet who dislikes Will Smith?

You know, not for nothing, this could be an announcement of the release of this photo of David Beckham.

Thanks for the link & the shout out. I have never been called groovy before! I like that!

      And groovy you are.

“So I guess we have found the one guy on the planet who dislikes Will Smith?”

funny, I get the exact opposite message.

Opposite message? You mean people that dislike Will Smith?

I know people that don’t like him, mostly big time film critics. I think the general public pretty much loves the guy unconditionally though.

    6. Saltire Flower June 20th, 2008 at 12:49 pm 6

Yeah, Will Smith can do no wrong. Even though I think most of his films are atrocious he’s never the target of my rage when I hate his films.

    7. Ryan Adams June 20th, 2008 at 12:57 pm 7

      sorry, Cinematically-Correct
I was trying to be funny without being too explicit.

I meant, maybe instead of the sign-guy taking a jab and implying Will Smith is a dick… I see it as giving props to his cock. In admiration.

Might be one of those UK-US slang things that doesn’t translate well. Or, more likely, maybe my comment wasn’t as funny to anybody else as it was to me. Happens often. 8-)

    8. Sasha Stone June 20th, 2008 at 1:38 pm 8

No, it was funny to me too. :-)

I like Will Smith. It’s hard to hate the guy. I know cuz I’ve tried. He’s just to damn charming. I really wish he would stop hanging out with Tom Cruise though…

    10. K Trout June 20th, 2008 at 4:15 pm 10

Han Cock. Not to be confused with Han Solo…

    11. rob June 20th, 2008 at 7:40 pm 11

What I like about Will Smith is that he doesn’t seem to get caught up in the typical Hollywood bullshit. That and his movies are entertaining (maybe not award winning).

    12. Haroldsmaude June 20th, 2008 at 9:36 pm 12

after seeing the picture of David Beckham, I understand why it snuck in in this post on the abbreviated title of Will Smith’s new movie. Gees!

    13. Paul Outlaw June 21st, 2008 at 8:49 am 13

I have always “hated” Will Smith. In fact, he’s in the pantheon of revolting box-office giants, along with Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts. I get their mass appeal, but their acting leaves me cold and I generally avoid their movies. That said, as a superhero addict from way back, I probably will not be able to resist the ***cock onslaught.

PS. Haven’t been here in awhile and am loving the site updates!

    14. K Trout June 21st, 2008 at 10:23 am 14

This is reminding me of Control, where they didn’t like The Buzzcocks because their name had “cock” in it…

    15. Alan of Montreal June 21st, 2008 at 12:47 pm 15

The fact that it’s combined with “Not your average superhero” makes me want to see it even more! ;-)

    16. Alan of Montreal June 21st, 2008 at 12:47 pm 16

      Dirk Diggler, anyone?

    17. kai June 22nd, 2008 at 11:00 pm 17

almost looks like says NOT YOUR AVERAGE SUPERHEAD under that big COCK. probably 120% true.

“The first time I saw The Hurt Locker, I had forgotten who the director was. As the film unfolded I kept saying to myself, “Wow, whoever directed this really has a unique intellect and highly focused directorial vision.” I knew that this film was different, that it had a depth not usually seen in a film set during wartime — but I didn’t know exactly how or why I was experiencing this reaction. When the end credits rolled, my “aha!” moment arrived. “So it’s a woman!” I thought, “It all makes sense to me now.”

Yet, I believe that Bigelow won the DGA — and quite possibly will win the Oscar — not because she’s female but because she did excellent work. Some voters may choose her to make some kind of political or feminist statement, but Bigelow’s name wouldn’t be on that ballot unless she deserved to be there.

Some claim that the dearth of awards recognition for female directors is because there are so few good female directors. To me, a statement like that ignores the fact that bias has prevented more women from getting good material to direct.”
