Its weird that the Weinstein clan won’t be financing a new Tarantino movie. Then again, am I the only one who’s noticed how QT has progressively gotten worse as a filmmaker from RESERVOIR DOGS onward?
Dear God, if that is true, and considering how clunky DEATH PROOF was…I hate to see what INGLORIUS BASTARDS will be like. Still, be awesome that we’re getting another WW2 “Men on a Mission” movie.
Thanks for the GONZO clip, Sasha.
As for the Wells piece………….is it me, or is that simply the whiney bitching we get yearly from someone?
RRA, Tarantino’s movies have gone in a different direction but I still think they’re great, although I was very surprised to enjoy Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse flick a lot more than Death Proof. I still think there are great films in him, but he’s in a phase of just “having fun,” it seems, with his movies of late, instead of making a statement the way he has in the past. My favorite of his remains the superb Jackie Brown.
Although overrated, I think he’s a pretty good filmmaker – not original at all, but obviously loves cinema…
Kill Bill-films were cinema – copied from others, but still cinema.
Jackie Brown and Death Proof are below average. So, he’s made 5 or 6 films and 30% are bad. Not the best tally…
The great Nikki Finke sez he’s courting Brad Pitt for Inglorious! http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/update-quentin-tarantino-talking-to-brad-pitt-to-star-in-inglorious-bastards/
