Ace Eddie Preview

Tomorrow, the Eddie awards will be held. The nominees are:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Kirk Baxter & Angus Wall
The Dark Knight

Lee Smith, A.C.E.
Frost/Nixon

Mike Hill, A.C.E. & Dan Hanley, A.C.E.
Milk

Elliot Graham
Slumdog Millionaire
Chris Dickens

BEST EDITED FEATURE FILM (COMEDY OR MUSICAL):
In Bruges
Jon Gregory, A.C.E.
Mamma Mia
Lesley Walker
Tropic Thunder
Greg Hayden
Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Alisa Lepselter
WALL-E
Stephen Schaffer

I think this is a fairly easy call. Slumdog wins drama, Wall-E wins comedy, or maybe In Bruges. It would be nice to see something else win here but I don’t think it’s possible. My personal choice would be The Dark Knight for this one but that’s probably not going to happen. The Eddie is the second most important guild award after the DGA. It usually tips towards Best Pic, especially in a sweeps year, which is what we’re in. I’m thinking Slumdog for the lock.
