Julianne Moore and Ed Harris in Game Change

Snapped these shots of Julianne Moore and Ed Harris as Palin and McCain off the screen from an HBO preview tonight. Premieres in 2012. Two more after the cut.

I know, right? I wasn’t really paying full attention to the HBO ads that ran after Bill Maher tonight, and just glanced up in time to catch a quick look — and it jolted me the same way.

Seriously… Tina Fey is fine enough for me, but as much as I know it’s Julianne Moore I’m looking at, I totally can hear the crazy voice coming out of that picture… It’s creepy… Guess I watched way too many of her clips, or the daily show or the report or snl for that matter…
BTW, should they hire Katie Couric and Tina Fey to play themselves it would be awesome XD

Moore is utterly uncanny. I can’t wait to see her in action. Harris not so similar in the visuals department, but then again looks aren’t everything in a biopic. In fact, many of the best performances in political biopics are by actors who don’t particuarly look like their subjects: Anthony Hopkins in “Nixon”, Bruce Greenwood in “Thirteen Days”, etc.

I’m really interested in the tone this movie will take. Obviously, some will call the film propoganda and ask why Obama, Biden, and Clinton weren’t included. It’s a fair question, but I think most people regardless of political ideals would argue that the Palin/McCain story is more interesting.

  9. I just hope it won’t be another W.

Actually, having read the book, the Clinton/Obama story is way more interesting. It also takes up a whole lot more of the book. That’s not to say the McCain/Palin story wasn’t interesting, but the Clinton/Obama story felt way more vivid and exciting.

This will be great, Golden Globes for Moore and Harris.

It´s creepy. Sarah Palin doesn´t deserve all this attention. So I hope this project will be the better “W.” Even when they try to make it a political drama it probably will be a comedy anyway.

I think Ed Harris´ body language in the last picture is spot on. In the first picture you really can´t tell if it´s Julianne Moore or the real Sarah Palin. When I first heard about the casting choices it didn´t make sense for me at all, but this looks brilliant.

When Moore’s casting was first announced, I knew she was up to the task.

  19. OMG Julianne Moore looks so much like Sarah Palis in these pictures! She is such a terrific actress, I’m pretty sure she will do an amazing job, as always. I can’t wait for that!

  25. Julianne looks too soulful and sensitive to play such a dumb, shallow woman. Didn’t work at all for me. Ed Harris looks like he’s just immitating him like SNL
