Focus Features doing a bang-up job tightening the screws on our anticipation, but I’m sure part of the reason these first teasers and trailers have been so great is because of the wonderful atmosphere percolating and saturating from every shot. Compare with the first trailer we saw in August, after the cut. Which do you like better?
Looks like the British Godfather! Awesome!!!

I like the new trailer better. Seems to me the music and editing are better.

Is it my imagination or is Mark Strong barely seen at all in either of those trailers? Considering how crucial a role he plays in the film, I guess I’m a bit surprised.

Ooops. I should visit more regularly and pay more attention.

oh, nope, The Pope. What Jon Pace said about voiceover narration was in a private email. Not in the comments.

BTW, I’m kidding about the “out of respect” bit.
ha, The Pope.
Another reader, Jon Pace brought this up in an email last week. It’s Jon’s theory that whenever we hear this new voiceover guy trying to resurrect the ghost Don LaFontaine then the movie is likely to be crummy. Example:

(does anybody know this new guy’s name?)

Great trailers and I have high hopes for the film. But has anyone noticed late, perhaps out of respect to the passing of Don LaFontaine, that there has been a drop off in narrated trailers?

Great expectations based in those two terrific trailers. Most important: in a age where the trailers, more than ever, give spoilers or/and show the best scenes of the movie, working as a summary (“The King Speech” one is a perfect example of that), “Tinker” trailers are juicy, but not very revealing, it seems. I guess.

Both the trailers that use the Wolfman score, but all the trailers they have made have been impressive. Can’t wait.
