shut up OCO300, Stop of saying over and over again the same thing. There are 0 posiblities for that movie. 0, be happy with what it has got the last night.
Happy for the artist. But sad, because Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer got what Meryl Streep/ Tilda Swinton/ Michelle Willian and Jessica Chastain/Berenice Bejo deserved much more.
^
Excellent choices, Simon- I would subscribe instantly!
Right now i would predict for the Oscars:
Picture: The Artist (RU: The Descendents)
Director: Michel Hazanavicus – The Artist (RU: Martin Scorsese – Hugo)
Lead Actor: Jean Dujardin – The Artist (RU: Brad Pitt – Moneyball)
Lead Actress: Michelle Williams (RU: Viola Davis – The Help
Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer – Beginners (RU: /)
Supporting Actress: Berenice Bejo – The Artist (RU: Jessica Chastain – The Help)
@Paul surprise me and a few people across the world that no critic award show nominated a billion dollar film in the BP race all year since HP:DH 2, T3, POTC: OST first released? And even though to the Academy, NFCA, or many critics said their were either fantasy or a kiddie film, but you gotta admit Harry Potter 7.2 definitely earns a Best Picture nomination more, I mean why shouldn’t it; like almost everyone (including movie critics) across the world said how great the movie was.
Also surprised me that when it was released on DVD, wow…..you know (to critics) it’s not good fincally but critically, I bet that’s what they thought of Avatar and Lord of the Rings.
“Anyone sensing a win for The Help in Best Picture Drama on Sunday night???”
Not really.
What a terrible night!! I am shocked! I mean George Clooney over Michael Fassbender! Viola Davis over Tilda Swinton! Octavia Spencer over Jessica Chastain! What the F…!!!!!
2005 has to eb the worst year ever. 3 out of the 4 winners stunk. Witherspoon (annoying), Clooney (nothing role), and Weisz (hardly in film.)
Koles,
You are absolutely right. This is one of the more unpredictable Oscar contests in years.
YIPPEE!!! I love it when there’s not a lock. And even though Christopher Plummer “seems” a lock, I still wouldn’t count out Albert Brooks. He’s a very strong upset. I remember when everyone thought Lauren Bacall was BSA for “The Mirror Has Two Faces”. Well . . . we all know what happened. Voila! Juliette Binoche won for “The English Patient”. One of the better choices the Academy has made. Everyone thought Fred Astair would win for “The Towering Inferno”. Voila! Robert de Niro won for “The Godfather Part II”.
Because of criticism, AMPAS has thankfully veered away from these “sentimental” choices just because a performer is older and has never won. In Plummer’s case, he has some stiff competition. I actually think Kenneth Branagh was terrific in “My Week With Marilyn”. He would be my choice. Critics’ darling Albert Brooks is also a very real threat. I would love to see Plummer win the Oscar for his role in “Beginners”. All I’m saying is that I think he’s not a “lock” to win.
@ julian the emperor
For me, the best year of the past decade was by far 2009. All the 4 performances were remarkable and 4 great actors: Winslet, Penn (now winning for a deserving and iconic performance), Ledger and Cruz.
2004 is probably the worst… Theron, Penn (his worst Oscar nominated performane), Robbins (as was said… a total miscast) and Zelwegger.
Aaron: re Halle Berry/Monsters’ Ball:
You hit the nail on the head. Truly one of the worst movies to win an Academy Award in any category.
Alexg, that’s what I’m thinking, too.
Streep will win Globe(D)and BAFTA
Davis will win SAG
Williams gets Globe (C/M)
And the Oscar goes to…Streep.
Aaron: Yeah, 2001 was weak as well, you’re right. So that makes 2001-2003 three consecutive anni horribilis…
“My GOD somebody give her a movie!”
Guess who said that for Viola Davis three years ago at the SAGs.
I think this person would be very very happy if Viola wins the Oscar. 8)
Anyone sensing a win for The Help in Best Picture Drama on Sunday night???
I’m thinking that Allen wins screenplay, sure many may think the Artist is more deserving but the majority of the academy will probably not understand why a silent film is nominated
I don’t understand why people are calling this race boring. Compared to last year or two years back most categories are still open, especially the acting ones. The only one who is officially locked for the Oscar is Christopher Plummer. Clooney is a front runner, but he is nowhere near the status that Firth, Bridgess or Day Lewis had in their races. Best Actress is wide open and the CC Award for Davis made it more interesting. No frontrunner at this point and 4 ladies who have legit chances of scoring the golden dude. Supp. Actress? Don’t get me started, also wide open. How is this boring? IMHO the BP and Director races are also still not over. The Artist is scoring big with the critics, but you still have to wait for the Guilds to be sure. Actually it’s the first race in years where at this point there are so many open races.
Why most of the critics prefer Rango to Tintin? Tintin is better than Rango. Rango is simple animated movie. But Tintin is innovative. We have never seen such movie. I hope that Oscars will choose it as best animated feature. I AM glad that The Artist won BP and BD.
In what universe is Clooney a better actor than Pitt????
glad about editing win fro TGWTDT
& yay Woody Octavia Viola! cinematography!
sad abt Tin tin ((
hopefully the Oscars will think differently
These awards were all over the place tonight with nothing really established except that The Artist will probably win the Best Picture Oscar. This will be further validated Sunday night when The Artist wins the Golden Globe for Best Picture (Musical/Comedy). What’s interesting though is the George Clooney win for Best Actor, an award I’m sure many thought would go to Brad Pitt. It’ll be interesting to see if his success continues Sunday night and if the HFPA goes for The Descendants over Hugo in the Best Picture-Drama category. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were big winners for The Help tonight, which could transcend into Globe wins Sunday night but I think if the film is going to get any recognition, it will solely be for the acting and not in the Best Picture category. Loved the very surprising editing win for Dragon Tattoo. The Kaminski tie with Lubezki was pretty bizarre. And I’m kinda shocked by the lack of love for Hugo, especially in the technical categories. But if anything was established tonight, it’s that The Artist is the unquestioned frontrunner now for the Best Picture Oscar.
Oh, the humanity, suddenly now Viola Davis is the frontrunner in the best actress category. When Meryl win next sunday at the Golden Globes, the stars will be in line once again.
They may as well hand the Oscar for Original Screenplay to Woody (or someone accepting on his behalf) now.
@Julian the Emperor…I think 2001 was the weakest year for the Academy and ironically one of the strongest years in film of the past decade. Denzel Washington (fine performance, but really over Tom Wilkinson and Russell Crowe? In my opinion, Crowe gave one of the most nuanced and powerful performances in a mostly convoluted and heavily formulaic film), Halle Berry (I’m sorry, but I thought this was a mess of a performance. I don’t think she understood who the hell her character was–one second she was having a nervous breakdown, the next second she was stoically contemplating, the next second she was screwing. It was one schizophrenic catastrophe in a terrible, terrible film). Jim Broadbent (great actor in a thankless role as a kind, comforting man standing by his dying wife. How thrilling). Jennifer Connelly (great actress in a thankless role as a kind, comforting woman standing by her mentally ill husband. How thrilling). If your trajectory is correct, then yes, this year will join the ranks as one of the most disappoint Oscar ceremonies ever.
Not surprising they’re more concerned with predicting the Oscars than selecting the most worthy. Davis is one step close–although she doesn’t deserve to be (sorry Sasha but Mara, Swinton and Streep are all more worthy but Davis will be the politically correct choice). I still think Pitt will win the Oscar.
Clooney (good, but not great), Davis (a stoic, dignified character played in a very, well, stoic, dignified manner, i.e. self-conscious to a fault), Spencer (not exactly subtle and quite a bit annoying), Plummer (rather great, but underdeveloped character)…if this translates to the Oscars, we’re up to one of the WEAKEST years in a very long time…maybe since 2003: Theron (rather great), Penn (good, but undeserving of the win), Robbins (imo; a total miscast… and an overrated actor in general) and Zellweger (BAD and just plain awful)…THAT was a weak year! And 2002, as well: Brody (he looks anaemic, sure, but other than that?), Kidman (ok, but undeserving), Cooper (he was great, I’ll admit as much) and Zeta-Jones (what!?)…another weak year…
Paul, the Artist won three awards tonight. HP won two. They didn’t tie.
Is it just me, or is it pretty sweet that Harry tied with Artist for second most amount of wins tonight? I know its all in tech categories, but thats still pretty cool.
Wait so a tie for Cinematography? or no?
Geesh! I’m glad I didn’t waste time following this one. Critics Awards? more like Prognsticators Prizes. I’ll have egg salad on white, please.
Night went pretty much as expected. I only want to say one thing about it. Patton Oswalt is the man.
@Mark,
I’ll have a fit too if Fassbender doesn’t get an Oscar nomination.
But I’m afraid with the Hollywood establishment behind them, the Pitt and Clooney machines can overshadow any outsider coming onto the scene that could take the attention off of them for a change.
I’m thinking that one of the major awards shows will want to recognize him. That would be maybe the Globes or BAFTA’s.
I really think that Elle Fanning was the true breakout star of the year. Yah, she was nominated here last year, but it was for a film whose trailer was better than its entirety.
I think Brad Pitt should have won best actor, Scorsese for director, and the girl with the dragon tattoo for score. Other than that it looks fine
@Aaron
yes we really need to talk 😀 😀
Wait, Thomas Horn beat Asa Butterfield for young performer? Yikes. I don’t want to dump on Horn because I think he did what he could with a really unlikable character but boy, Butterfield’s work was good for any actor, let alone a kid.
Julianne Moore has O but Meryl has two so Meryl can wait forever. 😀
Andrea wrote: I love how people say the Critics Choice don’t mean much. They have been correctly predicting the acting Oscars for quite a while now give or take a mistake or 2.
******
This year they don’t mean much. This is not a typical year. There are no real frontrunners in any category. The reason is: there are a lot of very good movies, but no real standouts. Even Christopher Plummer could easily lose on Oscar night.
The thing about Streep this year: she really is fine in The Iron Lady but the film itself isn’t very good. She really is the only reason to watch the film. Even Michelle Williams’ film has more substance than The Iron Lady. If Davis wins the Oscar it will have a lot to do with The Help being more moving than The Iron Lady.
@ Alper…haha, I couldn’t agree more. Especially Tilda, she was sublime.
We Need to Talk About How Boring this Award Season Is.
We need to talk about Tilda and Kirsten.
better performances but…robbed robbed 😀
Seeing Clooney win just made me realize how much more Fassbender actually deserves to win this season.
I will throw a fit if he doesn’t at least get an Oscar nomination.
absolutely horrifying winners.
good for Viola Davis. predictable and weak year no surprises and boring films.
Apes for VFX? No. Hogwarts, Nagini, Gringotts Dragon >>> Clearly CG Apes.
Viola Davis.
I don’t think Viola is a lock by now. If she loses Golden Globes next sunday, people will say someone else is a lock. As they were doing with Streep and Williams for a while.
But if she wins GG, then it’s a free passport to feb. 26.
Deserving? In my opinion YES. But other ones would be deserving too. It’s a great year for female acting. And it’s a shame Kirsten Dunst is out.
Bennect, that’s an undesired comment. Anyone but clonney. I guess he’s not a pretty boy, Oscar doesn’t gorgeous men to compete with the little gold man.
At least HP won something. Finally.
I really really want to see Jessica Chastain make an acceptance speech. She would be graceful and beautiful/elegant.
“Best Director: Michel Horznavicious, The Artist”
Haha. They also pronounced Le Havre in a very weird way. It’s the name of the French city – it’s not hard to pronounce.
goodnight! see you
Nobody will take the Best Actor Oscar from George Clooney. They want to give it to him. For very long. Is it deserving? Oh, positively no.
But, at least in the next year, and the next and the next, people will be stuffed of him and actors like Brad, Fassbender, DiCaprio, Gosling will finally be able to achive some laurels.
Again, Clooney’s career is not greater than Pitt’s, than DiCaprio’s, than Jim Carrey’s, than Johnny Depp’s, than Matt Damon’s. But he’s everywhere. He comments about politics. He’s a fine director too. He’s everybody’s friend. He’s the face of America.
No way he’ll lose it this year.
I love how people say the Critics Choice don’t mean much. They have been correctly predicting the acting Oscars for quite a while now give or take a mistake or 2.
I’ll never understand why people on the Awards Daily Forums think Streep was such a lock. People not only are meh on her film but they hate the person she is playing.
The only award she has a shot at is the Globe but I wouldn’t bet on it. She is the sole nomination there for The Iron Lady (The Help has 5) and she’s won 4 Globes the last 9 years. They are going to want to give it to Davis IMO.
I’m not sure about whether or not that cinematography tie is a mistake or not. I’d say it’s quite likely, though. After all, considering how popular The Tree of Life’s cinematography has been all season, I find it hard to believe that it could be beaten by War Horse at the BFCA. By the logic that it’s the most likely winner, it’s more likely that it’d tie with another film than be beaten.
Yeah, Europe says good night. 5:30am in my time zone.
Then Cinematography must have been a tie. They just replayed on Reelz when they gave an award to Janusz Kaminski. I guess they gave another one at another time. It was very informal the way they did it.
Brutal Benj, Antoinette, Morgan, Paddy M, Nate —
Thanks for asking the question enough times for me to finally take notice.
@JP
Amen to that. And I support Stanley Tucci’s move to cap the # acting noms to 16.
@Phantom: I would love that to happen.
Also, yay for Apes on VFXs and Dragon Tattoo on Editing.
Wikipedia has cinematography as a tie between Tree of Life and War Horse also.
Count me in Aaron!
Very good predictions Sasha, u nailed it.
The globes here we come.
Cinematography: TIE: WAR HORSE and TREE OF LIFE (no HUGO? Idiots.)
Art Direciton: HUGO
Editing: DRAGON TATTOO
@ Paddy
You obviously have a more idealistic view of the film industry that i do and that’s fine. I just find it logical for any actor to be “dying” for the Oscar not just for the publicity and honor (which covers the vanity factor), but also for the raised salary that it goes with as well as the greater selection of roles that an oscar brings. And if an actor (and especially an intelligent actress as Mrs. Davis is) dosn’t understand this and is indifferent to winning then i must be very wrong.
Anyway goodnight to everyone, it’s really early (in the morning) here in Europe.
The Artist won best score too…
IMDB has two winners in cinematography Tree of Life and War Horse. Weird.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo gets editing.
AND ZOMG HARRY POTTER IS IN THE AWARDS RACE – WINS SOUND AND MAKEUP!!!
Heh.
Since when the Oscar was based on the best speeches rather than the performance. Last year, Natalie Portman had one of the most awkward speech and yet, she won the Oscar because she gave one of the best performance not her speech. I believe they will have a little twist for this awards season. I believe the gg will give a difference results.
Wouldn’t it be hilarious if after the Weinstein-crowdpleaser swept the critics groups, BFCA and HFPA, the Fincher/Rudin film would pull off the Guilds and the Oscar ? It would be the same as last year…only the players would switch places.
Oh and they have Tree of Life tying with War Horse for Cinematography. Not sure about the accuracy of all this though.
Dunno if anyone has posted these yet, but:
Makeup: HARRY POTTER
Sound: HARRY POTTER
VFX: RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
Probably been said before, nonetheless, the Broadcast Film Critics are just Oscar predictors. They want to eclipse the Golden Globes, that’s all there is to it. But they haven’t succeeded. Never. Glad I chose to watch the fantastic Tailor Tinker Soldier Spy (there are no commas in the title) over their show. Next thread please.
Wikipedia seems to have the full list.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_Film_Critics_Association_Awards_2011
It seems The Artist won costumes and score as well, but not editing. Maybe that’s a good sign.
Full list of winners on IMDb folks!
http://www.imdb.com/oscars/nominations/critics-choice
Very very very pleased to see Viola Davis and the cast get rewarded for their wonderful work in The Help. Her speech was spectacular.
I don’t like the idea that they don’t announce the technical winners. And they barely showed the names of the documentary nominees.
greatest American ACTRESS
The only two things I was genuinely and happily surprised about were Christopher Plummer for Beginners (thought they would go for Brooks, glad I was proved wrong) and Woody Allen for Midnight in Paris (thought they would go for The Artist).
Everything else was blahhhhh. I’m hoping The Globes throw a few curveballs…at least we have Ricky Gervais to entertain us. Love him!
My comment was more general – but I don’t see how it is rolling in the whole race.
It stayed exactly where it was in every single category. Didn’t progress in any category outside of acting and won the acting categories it was supposed to win.
@ Cinemanos
If I was an actor, I don’t think I’d give a shit about winning Oscars. And I don’t think I’m vain either. And Viola Davis has thus far showed up to one awards show, to which she was invited. You referenced the other awards she has won this season – some of them are so minor, she may not have even heard of them. And I doubt she appreciates their significance, if they even have much. You seem to forget that many people in Hollywood aren’t particularly aware of this manufactured Oscar race – they just go along for the ride and pick up whatever awards come their way.
All right, time to blow this Popsicle stand! It was a pleasure watching this ridiculous awards show with all you fine folk. I’ll let you Mountain and Pacific timers have at it now.
@Morgan I meant THE HELP was rolling at the CCMAs tonight. I wasn’t talking about the whole race.
am i the only one that is tired of hearing that Viola Davis isn’t the lead in The Help? She clearly is….I’m a huge fan of Meryl and loved her performance in The Iron Lady, however, I won’t be upset if she loses to Viola this year….twas a very good year for women at the movies!
@ Mathira
I’m starting to give up too. I don’t understand why the Academy underapreciates the greatest American of all time. They think nominating her 100000 times is her reward. Rvery time she has a shot, they think the same: ”no… let’s award this one here… we don’t know if she’s gonna be up for awards again…. meryl can wait… we will nominate her 500 more times… she already won… Sally Field and Hillary Swank have better showings at the Oscars… doesn’t matter, let’s wait for the next year.”
I’ll play that game, John-Paul:
Clooney: BFCA
Pitt: Globe (Drama), SAG, Oscar
Dujardin: Globe (Comedy), BAFTA
Davis: BFCA, SAG, Oscar
Streep: Globe (Drama), BAFTA
Williams: Globe (Comedy)
Plummer: BFCA, Globe, SAG, Oscar
Branagh: BAFTA
Spencer: BFCA, SAG, Oscar
Chastain: Globe
Bejo: BAFTA
What is it with this “hater” word? We were all getting along fine 20 minutes ago. lol
What about Editing, Art Direction, VFXs, Score???
It’s Over?
I really felt most of the 10 nominees for Best Picture could have won tonight. That’s why awards are kind of pointless. (Though Extremely Close shouldn’t have been nominated.)
@ Paddy
Yes actors are more vain than let’s say taxi drivers. IMO it;s a fact. And what do you mean that she doesn’t follow the Oscar race closely? She shows up at every award show. And i don’t mean that this is a bad thing, it’s only natural. But please don’t tell me that she doesn’t follow the Oscar race, please.
I can say for sure if she was genouinly surprised or not. To me it seemed rehearsed. Any serious and intelligent actress (as is certainly is) would rehearse such a speech, or else she would be a very professional one.
About Swinton, she is indeed one of the least vain actresses i can think of, but my point is that the profession of acting almost requieres to be vain and most actors are more vain that other professionals. And about Olsen, i am sure that when she signed to make “MMMM” Oscar wasn;t on her mind, but when she started winning awards of course she wants the Oscar. I don’t think she is desperate though, she is very young and will probably have many more chances.
Why is The Help “rolling” because it is winning the acting prizes.
Spencer has been the leader in the supporting actress race the whole time. Davis has been the joint-leader with Streep the whole time, and now she is definitely the lone leader – if she wasn’t before.
And then it won Ensemble…It’s an actors movie. It has great acting. It isn’t winning best picture, best director, best writing…or anything else – It’s an actors movie, it will win the actors prize.
I’m not doubting it’s chances or anything, I’m just saying – Let’s not go nuts here.
Sometimes I worry about my fellow man. The Descendents, The Artist, The Help, all terrible films. I agree that this is the worst year ever for the award season.
A lot of haters here tonight.
These are the Broadcast Critics Awards. They don’t mean that much. But the tribute to Marty was lovely. I wish he had won the Director award but it would have been too much. I hope he wins the Globe on Sunday.
They must have run out of time because they showed more footage for the supporting actors than the leads. When will awards shows learn they run out of time near the end and have to speed it up at the beginning.
They should have cut The Tree of Life bit out. But the show was better than in previous years like the one when Kristin Chenoweth hosted and nothing was funny.
And the BFCA wonders why they get mocked for giving awards to the actors and films that are considered the most likely to go on to win Oscars. Why would ANYONE believe such incredulous nonsense? My stars.
I predict both Actor and Actress will be up for grabs until Oscar night. The way I see them:
BEST ACTOR
Clooney wins BFCA
Pitt wins Golden Globe (Drama) and SAG
Dujardin wins Golden Globe (Comedy/Musical) and BAFTA
BEST ACTRESS
Davis wins BFCA and Golden Globe (Drama)
Streep wins SAG
Williams wins Golden Globe (Comedy/Musical) and BAFTA
It’s a very plausible scenario, as far as I’m concerned.
“If Harvey Weinstein didn’t exist, the world of film and awards would be a better place. I guarantee that.”
+100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Go Michael Fassbender at the Globes and for an Oscar nomination and win! He’s raised the bar this year with all the incredible performances. He’s most deserving of sweeping from here on out.
So, that magazine cover became true. EW, was it?
Oh well. I wish I had some idea if it deserved it or not. XD
I feel your pain, Antoinette. Unlike last year, this year the studios have made no effort to get their Oscar movies to my area. I was so informed this time last year. What the hell happened?
Yeah, “The Artist”! The French are coming
So much for surprises. At least yet.
Ryman “If Harvey Weinstein didn’t exist, the world of film and awards would be a better place. I guarantee that.”
AMEN, BROTHER!
I feel for you, Paul H. I hope you are right, but unfortunately, this year is just as predictable as A Beautiful Mind or English Patient.
I give up. Meryl won’t win ever.
If Harvey Weinstein didn’t exist, the world of film and awards would be a better place. I guarantee that.
Harvey deserved this win The Artist is the best picture of 2011
Yup, I know critics don’t vote for the Oscars, but to be realistic, The Artist is going to win like The King Speech last year. Unless the history repeats itself again this year when critics and AMPAS voters just totally disagree with each other..
Disappointing night for sure except for the George Clooney and Davis win in my opinion.
Wow, Harvey wins again. No surprise there. It’s almost as though any middle of the road film could be campaigned by him and win the oscar. Almost.
There’s still time, Academy. Don’t go for an effin’ silent movie from France as your standard-bearer for best picture. Anything but The Artist.
I think Viola will beat Meryl in Golden Globe and She will win SAG.
What a crappy season to a great year of movies. I can only predict the rest will be the same.
THE ARTIST!!!
The Artist. Well Done Harvey…again. Good Night, Good Luck
HI HATERSS! LMAO!
The Artist. Oh crap.
@ Cinemanos
Don’t be ridiculous. You’re implying that all actors are, by default of being an actor, vain. That’s preposterous. Perhaps she genuinely was surprised. Perhaps she doesn’t follow the Oscar race as closely as many of us do. I bet her surprise was in total earnest; she’s clearly an intelligent woman, giving a speech like that probably comes quite easily to her.
Do you honestly think Elizabeth Olsen desperately wanted the Oscar so she starred in Martha Marcy May Marlene? Yeah, such a baity film there. And could you actually think an actress like Tilda Swinton is vain? That makes no sense to me.
George Clooney has nothing inspiring to say at all and is a bore.
I sure hope this isn’t a sign of what’s to come at the other awards shows.
Glad that The Artist beat out all those other predictable movies. It’s time for something new.
I think the sudden Davis-hate is ridiculous. Of course she wants that Oscar, in spite of being widely considered as one of the most talented working actresses today, she got her first BIG role at the age of 45 AND so far there has been only ONE African-American actress who won the Oscar in the Lead Category. Can you honestly blame her for thinking this might be her only shot at winning Best Actress ?
Yuck The Artist, I was bored to tears when I saw it. It just felt so gimmicky.
meh 🙁
the artist
I still think Meryl and Michelle will win the Globes. Also (HOPEFULLY) Brad Pitt can upset Clooney, too.
Yeah, and I always find it odd that actors act so surprised after they win and give a perfectly constructed, well thought-out acceptance speech. But regardless, it was a lovely speech and she spoke from the heart.
I’m still rooting for Michelle Williams, though.
Oh well. I wish I had some idea if it deserved it or not. XD
I like Viola , but i think it’s time to Streep get more recognition from her work ! I’m not saying that Iron Lady was her best performance , if it was REALLY for best performance Dunst or Swinton would win ! The same thing goes to the best actor category , Fassbender delivered the best performance , but he’s not gonna win anything ..
Best Picture: THE ARTIST
Why is everyone that doesn’t like an actors’ reaction to his/her winning or her/his speech is automatically labeled as a hater? I can’t understand this.
And is nobody going to address Michael’s blatantly racist statement, I hope this was sarcasm.
Well, at this point last year “The Social Network” was set in stone and then everything changed. But I still think The Artist will sweep.
Not so sure about the acting categories. If it comes down to Pitt vs Clooney, the truth is one already has an oscar while the other doesn’t.
Two supporting actresses have won tonight! It’s not fair! plus octovia has more screentime in the Help than Viola!
Clooney didn’t deserve his Oscar, and I hope tonight remains the only winning night for him this season
It’s THE ARTIST for sure, yes?
I want that Crest shit they show. Mojitos don’t smell so nice for your lady.
@ michael
I doubt they want the Oscar half as much as you want to get banned from this site.
i would take gosling, dujardin, fassbender or oldman over clooney. physical and brave performances. fully transformed actors, even pitt didnt do that but reels in the audience unlike anyone else
@ Paddy
every actress is the type of woman who worries about whether or not she’s gonna win an Oscar. She wouldn’t become an actress if she hadn’t vanity in her. I don;t mean that the other nominees don;t want the Oscar desperately. I am just annoyed when they react to their winning like they changed the course of cinema and especially when thet act surprised. She had won many awards this year and she had 50% of winning tonight so she probably expected this.
Wow the hate for Viola is palpable its really amazing. I guess ppl just don’t have the ability to come up with a speech on the spot, it must be rehearsed, right. Please get over it, all of the ladies in this category were very deserving. Why hate?
George Clooney!!!! I am so glad.
The best picture is probably going to inevitably go to The Artist, damn it, but don’t forget. The Social Network pulled a big win last year, and look at what happened, but the safe bet is still The Artist for the long run,,,
“2-time Oscar Winner Clooney, if there’s any justice, this just will not happen.”
To think that the great Peter O’Toole had to settle for an honorary Oscar.
Sasha, you predicted it, and I love it! What a magical night for The Help!!!!!!!!
OK seriously what won for the tech awards! I can’t find it anywhere!
what about the tech awards? :/
@Benj: I don’t want to start a drunk against drunk fight here, pal 😀
If the rest of the awards (Globes and guilds) follows this: Plummer-Spencer-Davis-Clooney-Hazanavicius-The Artist….
We’re looking at the most boring awards season ever…
Not so many great films as last year, predictable categories… suicidal for this Oscars.
All I want is ONE upset. Am I reaching for the stars here?
George Clooney Best Actor???????? Are you kidding me?????? Mediocre performance. Jean Dujardin was WAYYYYYYY Better. Hope the future awards don’t make this mistake.
Nice speech, by the way. I love George 🙂
Pitt was robbed anyway
I have nothing against Jean or The Artist itself, but please, don’t pull a “oh porr litle king” on us like last year.
What?
poor*
Also, Alexander Payne looks so cheap 😀
Another very good speech. Helped dull our memories of the Cloud of Smug from February 2006, which is what he needed to do.
Nice speech from George Clooney!
Touching and well-recuparated from Viola Davis’s.
I have nothing against Jean or The Artist itself, but please, don’t pull a “oh porr litle king” on us like last year.
What’s with the soft focus on Georgie here?
The camera’s sick of looking at him and went cockeyed.
LOL. clooney’s trying to jump on the tearful/funny speech to get his oscar like viola. what a bastard.
2-time Oscar Winner Clooney, if there’s any justice, this just will not happen.
blacks always give too dramtic speeches. They want the oscar so bad.
Clooney always gives great ‘off the cuff’ speeches. Very refreshing.
Yeah I was gonna say Kentucky might have been worse than Rhode Island. lol
I love Clooney, but Pitt got robbed. Well, at least it wasn’t the extremely charming but not deserving Jean Dujardin
What’s with the soft focus on Georgie here?
Meryl Streep doesn’t have a chance anymore. It’s Viola Davis’ year.
Guys, quit hating.
Viola Davis’ acceptance speech wasn’t any more dramatic or serious than any other speech I’ve heard her give at any other event recently. She’s one of the most eloquent actresses around. That’s just who she is. I don’t see Viola Davis as the type of woman who worries about whether or not she’s gonna win an Oscar.
So far, not doing very well with my predictions.
Yayyyyyyy, George Clooney!
George fucking Clooney as if this asshole isn’t smug enough!
Oh snap. Clooney.
Yes George Clooney! My favorite performance of the year. I mean, I’m kinda sick of seeing him at award shows but he was great in this.
Whoaaaaa! This year is awesome.
Got the Best Actor right!
Best Actor: George Clooney
Ben Kingsley is so perfect.
“Friendship and love can help us find our way”
She forgot “and a compass”.
I liked her performance, but her speech was way over the top. You won the Critic’s Choice dear not the Nobel. She is desparate for the Oscar and it shows. Anyway I suppose that everyone wants to win, but acting surprised is a bit much
It’s just annoying when actors act all shocked they’ve won and then come up with a perfect reharsed speech.
Best Actress is over, lads!
Yeah, that Spielberg-reaction definitely helps. Viola is a strong candidate to win the Oscar. Let’s return to this subject after Golden Globes. And get Steven in the shot if Viola wins 🙂
Terrible hair on Viola. Jennifer Jones wants her wig back!
I like that hair. lol On both of them.
Where did she go five hours though? That’s seems really far.
Oh my gah the spelling on the winners list is killin me! Spencer not Spenser! Go Viola Davis! I was expecting Michelle or Meryl to win!
“Davis really wants an Oscar, it seems. Speech was way too dramatic and serious for anything.”
100% agreed.
To me it didn’t sound much different from the speech Oprah gave a few weeks back. I wonder if Viola got pointers from Oprah.
Blatant Oscar begging is what I would call it.
Viola carried herself admirably, she is a great ambassador for actors period. Tht was a whopper of a speech
VERY effectively-constructed acceptance speech from Viola Davis, I have a feeling it has secured her the Oscar, too.
that tgi friday’s ad is more enticing than this show. me hungry. maybe drive winning pic will make me wake up 😉
Spielberg´s reaction to Viola Davis´ speech has just given her the Best Actress Oscar. Perception can be all about a shot and a counter-shot.
Steven approved that speech.
Davis really wants an Oscar, it seems. Speech was way too dramatic and serious for anything.
Terrific speech! “Friendship and love can help us find our way”
Viola Davis is something else.
What a marvelous speech. She was clearly prepared for this.
The Help is making a killing.
Oh man, what a speech. Viola, that Oscar is already yours.
Viola Davis hasn’t demonstrated a great amount of range, in my opinion, but what she does, she does very well. Its poetic.
Ugh. Inspirational/Teary speech – Viola is so winning the Oscar.
that tree of life segment was so embarrassing! oh and viola’s taking the oscar.
Beautiful speech by Viola Davis. I think she has the Oscar in the bag now.
WOW!!! SO HAPPY! SO SHOCKED!
I’ll be laughing through the “but she’s not lead” comments…or the “she only won because she’s black” comments. Bring it on!
Am I the only one who can’t stand Viola Davis?
Probably.
She was gonna win the Oscar anyway. This acceptance speech sealed it.
Terrible hair on Viola. Jennifer Jones wants her wig back!
@ LSUduck
That happens every year. The haters squirm out of the woodwork once their favourite film doesn’t start winning everything instead.
@Paddy M: Well played, sir. I lol’d hard 😀
Viola!? whoa… not expecting that at all, seriously.
OOoooo… THE HELP is rolling.
Meryl is totally gonna wait for her in the parking lot.
Viola!!!! Yay!!!!
The Help for Best Picture?
Now we know why Sean Penn is ACTUALLY in ‘Haiti’. Yeah, sure.
Wow, Viola Davis
Viola Davis!!!
Best Actress: Viola Davis!!!
and now the moment we’ve all been waiting for Best Actress…
Robin Wright presenting after Sean Penn? I see what you did there, BFCA
This hate for ‘The Artist’ is ridiculous. Yes, it may not be as unique as some are making it out to be but it’s a beautiful film and one of the best this year. The hate didn’t exist (in my eyes) until it started winning and a backlash simply for winning is crap.
So that’s why he was in Haiti. lol
There’s something about this award show that really embarrasses me. I’m watching it with the sound down low and just reading your updates.
Bruce needs that job. Bruce gotta eat. And he has.
He’s actually in Haiti right now so lol to you.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. And they really landed on the moon too. 😉
j/k
They will probably only show the big 3 remaining awards (Picture, Actor, Actress). Any idea about the rest of the technical ones (editing, costumes, music, sound, visual effects, make up, art direction). Are they announced already or will they be announced afterwards?
It looks like this is the first official Oscars WINNERS predictions chart. Hope I can do better when it comes to february.
lol my bad on sean penn. goes to show what i know 😛 and the artist is a great film actually but the direction and acting definitely elevated the script. they chose right with woody
Don’t lol at me, Travo 😀
I am francophone, and it would be:
A-za-na-vi-ci-us
There is no SHOOS/SHOES/SH
It is cius, like ssi-u-s
“A-za-na-vee-shoos”
Thanks. 🙂 I was going with something like Havanagilashushus.
We musta missed the others.
What about the Technical/Artistic awards? not announcing them? All we now is that War Horse won Cinematography, right?
Thank God, commercials are back on, I can turn the volume back up.
ahahaha~
you guys are killing me tonight.
(why can’t one of you kill Bruce Vilanch?)
The Artist for best directing? I knew it.
I think The artist is a great film. not disappointed it won best director.
^He’s actually in Haiti right now so lol to you.
“next up all of hollywood kisses Sean Penn’s ass for humanitarian work. if he truly is a humanitarian he’d be in africa instead of at this show.”
Close enough.
My TV is muted and I’m listening to “Grace Kelly” by Mika.
I like Sean Penn. Some of those people don’t look Haitian though. That one guy looks like Joel McHale.
“A-za-na-vee-shoos”
Not that you’d know…
If Dujardin beats Pitt or Clooney, I am CRYING.
Why does it smell like vinegar all of a sudden? Oh, Clooney’s on stage.
Dujardin might beat Pitt.
Booooo, The Artist!!!
Shoot 🙁
@OCO ur welcome
OH!!! Fuck me with the Eiffel Tower…
(Okay, so I typed “THE ARTIST” because I forgot how to spell his name. But Segel forgot how to say it! And I’m drunk, so I have an excuse! Okay, he probably is too)
Awww man, The Artist
Hazanavicius and Winding are turf.
Is that how you pronounce it? Has-nava-shoes?
Best Director: THE ARTIST!
Please be Marty, Please be Marty, Please be Marty, Please be Marty, Please be Marty.
srry, blew the budget outfitting the afterparty orgy room.
I’ll be the one playing a single note, slowly and repeatedly, on the grand piano.
next up all of hollywood kisses Sean Penn’s ass for humanitarian work. if he truly is a humanitarian he’d be in africa instead of at this show. oh and hallelujah for woody taking down the french!
Jason Segel? Does that mean Paul Feig is winning? lol j/k
Omg, Reese Witherspoon looked like a motion capture character of Tintin…in Water for Elephants.
(Thanks Fabiola!)
Although I consider both scripts excellent, I am slightly surprised that Moneyball won instead of The Descendants, latter is supposed to be the stronger contender.
@SC8O sorry and thanks
Ryan, it’s alright. At least now my lips can live a double life though 🙂
@Benny Z.
Spoilers can ruin your movies, but movies like Water for Elephants can ruin your life.
Relax, it was just an ok montage. I laughed with the Source Code joke, and I haven’t seen the film.. DAMN YOU BFCA!!
doesn’t…. my english… ohh
Woody Allen!!!
woody couldn’t??? Woody don’t want to be among you guys,,,
Haha, Water for Elephants was watchable – surprisingly. Still, who cares about spoilers in that one? It’s still an average movie.
true and that’s (2nd comment) the same thing what I said, and I forgive you knowing you say sorry.
@ Gabriel D.
I think Joseph L. Mankiewicz also won two years on a row in 1949 and 1950 in the Oscars. And best director too.
Yaaay woody!
Yay Midnight in Paris!!!
I hope Allen is going to get the golden one.
Woody coulda been there. XD
This guy from Fitz etc. knows he has a microphone right?
At least they didn’t have to say “Michel Horznavicious” again…
Yay for MIP. Artist is going down!
“Woody couldn’t be here…”
Oh, really?
I haven’t seen Water For Elephants and I didn’t need to know about how an important character dies.
A true classic, ruined forever.
Yes!! Got the Original screenplay right! Go Woody!
Best Original Screenplay: MIDNIGHT IN PARIS
Spielberg looks kinda sad.
Okay now Spielberg looks super sad. This is not Sagittarius behavior. What’s going on in there?
If Sorkin wins an oscar this year, would it be the first time that a writer wins two years in a row?
in fact, everyone here tonight wins Best Blog Ensemble.
remarkably good behavior and sharp wit.
In the spirit of Judd Apatow, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts, and ask why these motherfuckers are too cheap to have any snacks in the green room?
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts, and ask why these motherfuckers are too cheap to have any snacks in the green room?
srry, blew the budget outfitting the afterparty orgy room.
I thought the fictional In Memoriam segment to be pretty terrible. Not funny and it did spoil things for people who hadn’t seen those films. I haven’t seen Water For Elephants and I didn’t need to know about how an important character dies.
@OCO300 yeah, cause it definitely deserve a BP nod after it got many good reviews and did acceptionally well at the box office…..which still is kinda odd and surprising how many sequels did better than major movies in the box office.
Well there you go. No love as yet for The Descendants, surprisingly!
Slow clap from Charlize. XD
Moneyball just won Adapted Screenplay.
Of course, Moneyball!
MONEYBALL!!!!! YES!
Got adapted screenplay right!
alot of people hate the critics choice awards, plus not nominating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 for BP, I mean it got a 93% on BFCA/Critic’s Choice the highest score this year on those sites.
Best Adapted Screenplay: MONEYBALL
I actually found that fictional In Memoriam reel pretty funny. Do I lack taste? Don’t answer that.
They’re doing a montage of the deaths in films instead of an in memoriam.
That’s a badass Streep commercial. Barely even an IRON LADY ad really.
So whats going on now? I don’t have live stream and I am not near a TV, what category are they presenting as of now?
This lot are too cool to give the doc category its own segment. They have Bob Dylan. They’re so past that.
Perhaps they just wanted to get the fact that they nominated The Undefeated out of the way as quickly as they could…
I pause all the commercial breaks.
Kidding? Everything is better with Soy Bomb!
I’m just disappointed Soy Bomb didn’t show.
kidding…
Marty won the Doc category too!
Martin Scorcese is definitely the cutest man on earth.
LOL nope, Antoinette, I didn’t save the receipt. But I remember thinking at the time that the whole thing was a conspiracy theory, he was really dead, and they were puppeteering him. He was that out of it. Great to hear him in fine form tonight.
Yup. Totally agree. All my favorite movies are full of music.
Boy. Brad looks sad. Where’s Angie?
@Brutal Benj Do you still have the receipt? lol
AAAND after all that, possibly the most insignificant award of the night!
Dylan looks and sounds better than he did when I paid to see him 7 or 8 years ago. Figures.
@Antoinette
I agree. This is really what it should be like. Not so stuffy and serious.
I wouldn’t give it if I couldn’t take it, Benj.
Your new persona <3
See now something like this makes this potentially a cooler show than the Globes or the Oscars.
wow bob dylan must really respect marty to go to a show like this. what a legend
“wow bob dylan must really respect marty to go to a show like this. what a legend”
more comments like this, please, thanks.
good work, dudeabides
in fact, everyone here tonight wins Best Blog Ensemble.
remarkably good behavior and sharp wit.
bob dylan, what a poet… wow
Hey did you guys know that American media is more tolerant of violence than of harsh language or sex? Just thought I’d break in with that newsflash.
Nothing but <3, Paddy. Just trying out the new persona.
BOB FUCKING DYLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!! *-*
@Antoinette
Hahaha, no. I mean Horn.
I swear if they ever do a biopic of George Harrison it should be Casey Affleck. He just looks like him imo.
This Scorsese montage is remarkably violent considering that they’ve been bleeping out the word ‘shit’ all evening.
American TV <3
my secret wish for the season:Leonardo goes home tonight, next sunday and that night in Feb with a statuette… he is a brilliant actor and his work in J. Edgar is astonishing
@Benny Z
Who? Leo?
That kid’s gonna have a terrible life. Twenty years from now they’re gonna find him in a judy garland wig singing showtunes in the village, trying to get enough money to score coke.
@ Cinemanos
If, by interesting, you mean disappointing, I thoroughly agree.
Leo sounds funny in this stream.
In fact, you’re right, Ryan! I’m switching names as of tonight.
All the cat calls for Leo. LOLOLOL
Brutal Benj, what have you done with Gentle Benj?!
HE’S DEAD NOW
This was the second surprise thus far after War Horse winning cinematography. This could be an interesting night
akumax, I like it 😀
I would have been a good mob wife. How did I not get that done? Pfft.
why are commercials interrupted by the show so often?
^
aha!
A Separation is still the best film to win anything. Will it stay that way?
I thought he might spoil Woodley.
D: During the show? They’d never let that air.
j/k I’m evul.
Lol Ryman. I’m never happy. Imagine Sasha on Monday 28 February last year, only twice as bad, and every day. Thomas Horn is just one special drop of darkness in a whole sea of gloom…
Thanks Gabriel. 🙂
I almost put his name on my predix. I thought he might spoil Woodley.
I’m gonna let other people get into trouble this time. lol
Anyone who ever did high school, college, or community theater will be very familiar with Thomas Horn’s style of phony twitterpation.
Anyone who ever did high school, college, or community theater will be very familiar with Thomas Horn’s style of phony twitterpation.
Brutal Benj, what have you done with Gentle Benj?!
@ Antoinette
Yea, for The Lovely Bones
spoiler alert again
Thomas horn beats Shailene Woodley for Young Actor
a well deserved win 🙂
LOL. Paddy is not happy.
He sounds so…
Asa and The Descendants girl got robbed.
Thomas Horne! … and in the end the impossible… Daldry gets an oscar nom again…
Sure, Thomas, I believe you. You definitely didn’t think you were going to win. That speech was just so unrehearsed!
Ugh, this child has the worst voice!
Oh fuck no.
here’s a link everyone enjoy
http://www.cacoduro.com/2012/01/critics-choice-movie-awards-2012/
Best Young Actor/Actress: Thomas Horn!
Benj, I thought exactly the same thing.
At least now I have Paul Rudd to look at…
Did Saoirse Ronan win this previously? I feel like she did.
I hope The Descendants wins best picture, but I think it will probably go to The Artist.
Ugh, children.
Octavia Spencer is good in The Help, but I think is Jessica Chaistain’s year for the Oscar
So unfunny.
Michael Cera?!
Thanks Ryan! It’s working for me now.
VH1 is trying to make Fitz and the Tantrums happen almost as hard as Cartoon Network tried to make Cerebral Ballzy happen. Well, at least VH1 is actually a music channel, I suppose.
a Separation is very well written, it deserves an oscar nom for screenplay.
The US aren’t the only ones who put ads in the middle are we?
Emil, scroll down, it was hidden behind an ad, I closed the ad and there it was. Although I knew it was there somewhere because the sound was on from the first moment, so I only had to find the video. Dou you have sound ?
I’m still worried about Emil finding a stream that works…
Did that guy mean to look like that or can he not grow a whole moustache? I’m guessing he’s Fitz?
Freakin ad breaks. Where’s the BBC when you need them?!?
I guess Octavia Spencer’s still the frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
^
yep, I’m feeling it.
Nice sentiments from the director of A SEPARATION in very practiced English. And yeah, Apatow kept the censors’ fingers busy.
Hooray for A Separation! I know it was a foregone conclusion, but deservedly so. It’s a fabulous film.
Yay!!!
A Seperation!!
A Seperation!!! Got that right!
Hmm… I used to consider myself a fan of Judd Apatow. The times they are a changin’. lol
Best Foreign Language Film: A SEPARATION
Link works perfectly fine. But you have to remove the several ads at the buttom for the stream to show up.
Bridesmaids??
HORRIBLE BOSSES was the funniest movie out of those.
Best Comedy: BRIDESMAIDS
Best Comedy should go to Bridesmaids!
Firefox here.
I’m not watching!! So I’m just gonna make a random comment!!!
Ryan Adams, I have FireFox and Internet Explorer. It does not work for both.
Emil,
Tero recommends scrolling down the page… it’s underneath a block of text.
Thanks Ryan!!!
Rango best animated!!
lmao @ War Horse winning Cinematography.
The link works. Just scroll down. It’s there.
Patton Oswalt: “I gave David Denby a kidney for nothing apparently” LOL
WHAT BROWSERS ARE YOU ALL USING? That link does not work for me, and it seems to be the only one!
Booze commercials are illegal here. Nokia is allowed (it’s Finnish after all).
Thank you Ryan!!!!! This is the best site always1
It WORKS ! Ryan, if you ever need a kidney, just call 🙂
Am I the only one that Ryan’s link does not work? There is just no video stream in it. I tried with tow browsers and nothing!
Hey, I didn’t know you guys have Weight Watchers in the US too!
orgasm*
And yeah, that was Gore! congrats to the Rango team.
Well, even though they snubbed Potter these guys still know what’s up…War Horse is certainly more deserving then you know what.
a trustable link
http://www.cacoduro.com/2012/01/critics-choice-movie-awards-2012/
Rango doesn’t deserve all these awards compared to Tintin!
Thank you. 🙂
You just gave me an orgams, Ryan. You’re real name is not Veronica, right? 😀
Thanks, dude! You rock, as always! Is that Gore Verbinski?
Elizabeth Olsen.
BEST ENSEMBLE GOES TO THE BEST ENSEMBLE!!!!!!!!
Maya Rudolph and ? Olsen presented animated movie while joking that Meryl Streep should run for president.
Ryan, you are the best!!
Finally, got animation right.
Animated Feature: Rango (really?)
thank you Ryan
Ryan Adams, it opens the site, but there is no stream in it?
Emil — so sorry to hear it’s not working for you.
have you tried Chrome, Firefox, Opera browsers?
Best Animated Feature: RANGO, locked in now, I’d say
Meryl Streep was not listening… had to be told what the joke was about her running for president… LOL
Ryan, will you marry me?
http://www.cacoduro.com/2012/01/critics-choice-movie-awards-2012/ here’s a link everyone
the help for ensemble. got it right again.
the Help!!
Best Acting Ensemble: THE HELP
LIVE STREAM
Ryan to the rescue.
Best Ensemble is up next.
Supporting actor and actress is pretty much locked. I’m curious who’s going to win original screenplay. Should be Paris or 50/50, but I think The Artist will take it.
Leo doesn’t even get it. LOL They should host the Oscars, not all the muppets.
YAYYYYYYYY OCTAVIA!!!
thanks anyway… ; (
please someone link the ceremony, i’m searching for some minutes and just can’t find it
I’m watching it on TV. I was trying to help you guys find one before. I thought those would last. 🙁
Oh come now. They both deserved it. Plummer for a career. Spencer did just fine in THE HELP.
I personally was rooting for Nolte but these things happen.
@antoinette
you where looking for a link for the stream and it seems you are watching the show, can I please ask where? thanks
missed both best supporting actor and actress… I thought Albert Brooks would’ve take at least the critics choice.
If you are saying Spencer was an expected win, you are a L-I-A-R.
@Antoinette
Christopher was great in TFOTRE. Loved him in that.
I’ve been searching for the last 15 minutes – there aren’t any links. I’ll keep looking throughout the night in case any turn up, but there’s not a sign of any links yet. Is anyone currently posting here watching it online?
also got plummer right.
what a boring start.
Talk about a horrible way to start off the awards. Unfunny hosts and undeserving wins.
got Octavia right. so well deserved
Link, please 🙁 No Zelda’s link but a streaming link!
How did I not notice his shirt was peach before? D: I’m not feeling it. But congratulations to Christopher Plummer. I always thought he was a hottie in THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE. (Which was basically the same as GLADIATOR.)
Hooray for Christopher!
Best Supporting Actor – Christopher Plummer!
Christopher Plummer!
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer
a link please… where are you watching it?
(SPOILERS)
Supporting Actress – Octavia Spencer
Octavia Spencer!!!
Octavia Spencer for Best Supporting Actress!
@PaulH The skinnier one was in THE DESCENDANTS.
Do you non-east coasters want or not want the winners?
Best Supporting Actress…my hands crossed for McCarthy!
I’m not sure there’ll be a streaming link. Last year, all I could get was a security cam link (or that’s what I thought it was), which wasn’t at all good.
Presenters have booze onstage! Now that’s a touch I can get behind.
Stream link please somebody!
BTW all the VH1 streams I can find are either for VH1 Music or VH1 europe
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
NGNG prediction – Thomas Horn will grow up to be gay.
can anyone help with a streaming link, please? thanks!
None of these links are working for me, a bit desperate… anyone got one?
Who the frak are Rob Heuvel and Paul Scheer? THE Rob Heuvel and THE Paul Scheer?
wrong channel … with the link… : (
That’s not the right link, I expect.
Anyone got any real links?
Clooney makes a point of not laughing at the running-in-flip-flops joke. What a class act.
watching…
Are we still warching a music video?
the BFCA sure taught the cinematographers a thing or two about cinematography.
LOL, this is a slippery slope we don’t want to go down. Critics vs. professionals. We’re all going to find examples to cheer and to jeer on both sides.
What the hell did Thomas Horn do to make Paddy want to slap him? That streaming link doesn’t work for me.
“I am really happy about the cinematography win because it serves the guild awards right for snubbing War Horse.”
I agree. I laughed even.
Fire Emblem, if that link works – THANK YOU!
Paddy, don’t be mean. Thomas is too young and too new to feel comfortable there.
I am really happy about the cinematography win because it serves the guild awards right for snubbing War Horse. I hope either War Horse or Drive goes on a sweep.
it serves the guild awards right
that’s right.
the BFCA sure taught the cinematographers a thing or two about cinematography.
I see Pitt and Marty. Now it’s serious.
Thomas Horn needs a slap.
“We made the princess cry…”
Oh boy, that’s sooooo Harvey Weinstein! EEEEWWWW
The ceremony in 10 minutes
http://www.vipbox.tv/watch/23857/1/vh1-live-stream-online.html
I love how Charlize Theron is still a fourteen-year-old girl inside lol.
This stream is surprisingly good-quality, I hope it won’t shut down after the red carpet.
I want to join their email list.
Don’t worry Antoinette. She’s Argentinian by birth, but raised in France, I believe. So yes, she is French.
Tilda! Viola!
Hey I got yelled at for assuming Bejo was french but she had a french accent just now. Was she faking?
I just can’t spell carpet today. XD
Oh that kid who played Sid. lol He was the high point of THE DESCENDANTS for me.
“Je suis Sam.” Geez.
I think they got that from the MTV awards. I always thought that was kinda bad for the people who win. But not as bad as people being told on the red carper that they won Grammys earlier and they didn’t even know. That happens.
go muppets! i hope it gets an oscar nom for that too
@Ryman The BFCA only has 2 hours of airtime and they want to save as much of that as they can for pretty faces.
@Tero Yes.
Is it George who gives the award to Sean Penn?
Can’t argue with that, Ryman. On the other hand, they have 24 categories (same number as the Oscars), and no one cares enough about the CC Awards to give them 3-4 hours of air.
Oh now I see what I wrong with the stream. I didn’t click. You’d think I’ve watched enough illegal streams of figure skating to know what I’m doing. *is dumb*
Oh I thought Allison Janney was great in THE HELP. I wish I was that tall.
How can awards be presented on the red carpet?! That’s absolute bull. You might as well have a homeless person hand you an Oscar and the already opened envelope as he/she walks right by you. Talk about uninspiring “we need less entertainment and more advertisements” stupidity.
“I was doing the Rerun.” LOLOLOLOL Okay that was funny. XD
Yes, that’s a good link. The other one in the previous thread was awful.
Just let me know if the show is on somewhere, too. Otherwise I go to bed.
In the US the red carpet is on Reelz Channel now and they handed out 3 awards that I saw. They had started the red carpet show before I turned it on so I actually could have missed some.
Some awards are being presented on the Red Carpet. It’s on the REELZ channel, here in So Calif.
Does either stream work for people? I got a german coke commercial and on the offical one I got nada.
I think they’ve calmed down with handing out awards though. They’re just interviewing people now, if anyone still can’t see. Michelle Williams is on the red carpet now. Until she started talking I thought she was Carey Mulligan. Tiny haircuts.
this stream works for me:
http://www.stream2watch.me/live-tv/cw-live-stream
They’re apparently giving out some awards on the red carpet.
Where are you getting this information? The show doesn’t start in another hour!
WOOHOO for “Life’s a Happy Song”! The best song wins!
Show doesn’t start for another hour?
Thanks the link!!! Is the show is there too? 🙂
I think one of the songs from The Muppets won best song
Go the best song and best action movie… but miss the cinematography.
http://www.stream2watch.me/live-tv/cw-live-stream
Clooney has landed.
Phew! The real thread. *faints*
Somebody! Is there a live stream for the show?? Please !! Ty 🙂
