  1. Letterman’s interview will certainly be a different take than Charlie Rose’s. I hope Fassbender’s not a blusher.

  2. Deena Jones' wig

    good talking head? really?

  3. Nick Ray

    “really?”

is there a day goes by that your panties are NOT in a knot about something?

“Panties in a knot.”? Really. Really really really.

  4. He is ALL I need in life. I need NOTHING else.

  5. Very nice interview to showcase Michael’s talent and introduce him to the rest of America. Great booking gig!

  6. Too bad all this publicity didn’t happen last week, BEFORE the last ballots were marked.

Thanks for passing this along that he’s on Letterman, otherwise I would have missed it. I’m waiting now for him to be introduced….

When America finds out about him, he’ll be everyone’s heartthrob. He is hot!

It was not a serious interview at all, lots of joking by Letterman, which is to be expected. He was a good sport. They showed a clip of Shame too.

  9. “Too bad all this publicity didn’t happen last week, BEFORE the last ballots were marked.” This guy is everywhere this week. The interview with Charlie Rose was pretty good. Strange how the publicity campaign kicked in AFTER the ballots were already mailed but George Clooney’s was done BEFORE. Both are being promoted by Fox Searchlight. Funny that. Same with Streep and Williams. Streep got a lot of media attention BEFORE ballots were in and Williams got her huge GQ cover that everyone is talking about AFTER the ballots are in. Both are being promoted by Weinstein Co. Very interesting. Not that these studios are playing favorites. No this is all mere coincidence. Right. :)

  10. It was almost like he and Dave were speaking different languages. Dave does nothing to make his guests feel comfortable if they’re nervous so they kept getting their signals crossed.

I didn’t know what Fassbender’s normal accent was like. He sounds exactly like The Edge to me.

He is ALL I need in life. I need NOTHING else.

You’re gonna need water. At least.

I was thinking the same thing but not just about him. There are a bunch of them pushing their movies this week. Last night Colin Firth campaigned for Gary Oldman for like 5 minutes straight on Craig Ferguson. And I’m sitting there thinking “Why now?” It’s like the exact wrong time for these people to be on. If they’re on the cusp and not guaranteed nominations they should have been on earlier, preferably around Christmastime. If they’re a lock then they should come on later after the nominations are announcement and the final ballots are out. Who schedules this stuff? I watch these shows all the time and there were new episodes (not repeats) at the important times and they had a lot of mediocre guests. These people, even if they’re not household names, would definitely have been wanted on these shows. I don’t get it. It’s like nobody wants Oscars this year.

  11. @Jerry I was typing when you posted. That’s interesting.

  12. Hey people, I truly believe Michael will be nominated for the Oscar, but now, this PR is still coming at a great time because once he’s nominated, he just needs the VOTES, and this week is a great reference point for AMPAS voters to review when putting in their votes.

    Better later, than never.

@Jerry: Well, Meryl did say that Harvey is God, and we know that God loved Jacob but hated Esau…..

  14. once he’s nominated

That’s the problem. What if he’s not? You can’t risk these things.

  15. For me, the allegation of assault against Fassbender by his ex Sunawin Andrews is just too tidily and wholly forgotten so quickly, and without a word from him, just a quick, secret agreement. I’d like to know more about that, since he’s becoming such a favourite now, I really would. He needs to say something about it.

  16. What “quick secret agreement”. She filed for a restraining order, after a breakup, then dropped the filing – and all allegations – a month later. Case closed.

It has nothing to do with his performance. He has nothing to explain. This isn’t TMZ.

  17. “I truly believe Michael will be nominated for the Oscar, but now, this PR is still coming at a great time because once he’s nominated, he just needs the VOTES,” You have to be nominated FIRST and he wasn’t a lock like Clooney, Pitt, Dujardin and Dicarpio. Gary Oldman, Michael Shannon and Damian Bichir could still take that 5th spot. The campaign should have happened before January 13th not after.

    Thank you, steve50.

Where did you hear about this breakup, etc?
I’d love to read about it. I haven’t heard anything about his personal life.

  20. I can’t believe Leonardo is a lock for a nomination and Michael isn’t. Jesus.

This thing called the internet. You’re probably on it right now.

you guys, please stop. I want to delete this whole meaningless thing. Gossip at this stage smacks of sabotage. Not pretty. Rise above it, ok? The End.
