Life of Pi is the frotrunner in Visual Effects. There is a battle in animated feature (Frankenweenie vs Paranorman), Adapted Screenplay (Argo vs Lincoln vs Silver), Suporting Actor (Hoffman vs Lee Jones) and Actress (Lawrence vs Chastain). This is a great year!.

  2. WOW, Argo has been doing very well with the critics, I didn’t think it could be a strong presence until the guild-stage, I expected the critics groups to go with the indie darlings (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Moonrise Kingdom etc.) and they went all studiofilmy on us (Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, Life of Pi).

Anyway, Florida was the 20th :

BEST PICTURE – Zero Dark Thirty (8), Argo (4), The Master (3)
BEST DIRECTOR – Kathryn Bigelow (9), Affleck (5), Lee (2), Paul Thomas Anderson (2)
    BEST ACTRESS – Jessica Chastain (8), Lawrence (5), Riva (4), Weisz (2)
    BEST ACTOR – Daniel Day-Lewis (15), Phoenix (2), Cooper (2)
    BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS – Anne Hathaway (9), Field (4), Hunt-Adams-Dowd (2)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR – Tommy Lee Jones AND Philip Seymour Hoffman (6), Waltz (2)
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY* – Zero Dark Thirty AND Looper (4), The Master (3)
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY** – Lincoln (6), Silver Linings Playbook AND Argo (4)

*(14 original script awards including 4 without a separate category)
**(16 adapted script awards including 5 without a separate category)

  3. Looper is still pulling in some surprising wins!

  4. Ben affleckj for best director

  5. If The Intouchables keeps winning Best Foreign Language Film awards, I’m leaving the country and moving to France!

    Oh no wait…

  6. It’s official Hathaway will be a first time Oscar winner. Too bad it’s not in the Best Actress category. Goodbye Sally Field’s perfect 3 or 3 record. Goodbye! :(

  7. Yeah, it is inevitable that Anne Hathaway will win the Oscar this year. The Academy loves her, we already know that fact. Other wins will probably go to DDL, Hoffman and Chastain. I also think that Bigelow is the frontrunner for the BD award. She will most likely win the DGA.
