Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Where can we purchase an 85th Oscar poster?
I like the minimalist one better but not by much. This is the best they could come up with for Oscar’s 85th year? The “Seth portrait” one is good for publicity in magazines, bus terminals and such but it just doesn’t strike the right tone for the “Big Daddy” of movie awards shows. Where’s the sense of regal and reverence? I say “Epic Fail”.
The first one is awful. The Oscars is about Oscar not the host. The second one is okay but it’s still lacks the “regal” feel of past Oscar posters.
Funniest is, he is a nominee and has a real shot at winning
you know, this guy is bright and clever and all (i enjoy his input on Bill Maher’s show) and FAMILY GUY has a big following, but there will be LOTS and LOTS of people out there that don’t know who the hell he is. i think it will hurt the show. it’s as though they’d picked Matt Stone and Trey Parker to host the show.
This poster apparently has been created for Seth McFarlane, and Seth McFarlane alone.
I fear the same will be the case for the Oscar show itself.
Does anybody know if there will be an “85 Years of Oscar poster” available after we all know what the 85th Best Picture is? My 70, 75, and 80-year posters crave company.
Is it an “S” that is supposed to stand for Seth?
If so, I’m not liking it.
What’s going on with the base of the Oscar statuette in this photography?
I can’t figure out why it’s scrunched up that way. What am I missing?

I thought it was meant to represent the foundation of the Oscars eroding away the past two years.
Well, I’m going against the grain and predict that MacFarlane is going to surprise you guys and turn out to be a terrific host. Unfortunately, reading over my predictions, I also guess that he’ll be the best thing about the evening for me.
This awards season will partly be remembered for Tina and Amy.
Disgusting?
I totally agree: who’s MacFarlaine?
He sucks!
He looks like the Leaning Tower of MacFarlane. lol
I hope he does a great job. Tina and Amy surprised me with how good they were. So they set a high bar.
‘I’m sorry, but MacFarlane looks so smug. Here’s hoping he treats the ceremony with the respect it deserves.’
Eric,
that’s doubtful. I know it’s about lighening up the self-importance of the ceremony etc…and lord know it needs it.
But I kind dread watching these comics do their silly, over-the-top gags and jokes about films like Lincoln, Pi, ZD30….
It’s one thing to mock the celebrity culture of it, but when they start dressing up as Lincoln or Bin Laden, no thanks.
It can’t be worse than Crystal’s vaudeville act…that was a cringe fest.
I find it diminishing and insulting to the work these people put into it.
Not impressed at all :/
But it’s just a poster after all.. It doesn’t mean that the show is going to be awful already! Let’s hope for the best

@The Dude – I agree conpletely. Who is MacFarlane? Tina and Amy were just superb.
After Tina and Amy, he’ll probably look very weak in comparison. Next year, they’ll be back with Crystal.
When do they go on sale???
Would it be that hard to take a picture of McFarlane with an Oscar. Why did they photoshop his head on to someone else?
Ew ew ew.
Golden Lining Playbook!!! luv the second one
I like the minimalist one better.
How about this one: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:85th_Academy_Awards_Poster.jpg
