Cannes Diary: Coming Home

When the high heel controversy hit Cannes, my first thought was unless you’ve been here ...

  1. Why no comments?

  2. Well, art direction in AHS: Asylum is nice.

  3. Not much of a surprise, any of these 3 have a chance at winning oscar. Happy for Pi.

  4. ^ my bad, Skyfall isn’t nominated.

  5. Anna Karenina has surely got to win the Oscar. I haven’t seen production design as opulent and creative as that in any Western feature, like ever yet. Would have preferred The Hobbit over Life of Pi, but it’s hard to argue with these winners. They’re all good picks.

  6. It’s over. Anna Karenina wins the award for Oscar.

  7. The Life of Pi or The Hobbit should win the award. Anna Karenina is a very small film.

  8. I’m still predicting Lincoln for this Oscar, despite the guild awards. It won the Satellite award and it’s nominated for BP, which most Art Direction winners are (that leaves out Anna Karenina). It’s a close race though. Curious to see who wins the BAFTA for this category.
