Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Brad Pitt really deserved it last year. Sadly, lead performances like that type rarely win Oscars anymore.
Somebody should actually film this. With art direction like this, who needs a story?
Ashwin – I agree. The Artist was cute the first time through, but unwatchable the second time. The Descendants is a far superior film.
But for Daniel Day Lewis in ‘There Will Be Blood’ Clooney would have won for ‘Michael Clayton’.
The problem with ‘The Artist’ is that when you see it a second time you realise that the story is trite like listening to Justin Bieber. The unique thing in that film was that it was silent not the story about a man and woman which has been done before many time. For me ‘The Descendants’ was even more powerful the second time.
Ashwin Pinto: I’d be inclined to agree with you, but I think that award was Brad Pitt’s through and through. Clooney was classic Clooney in Descendents; IMO, he still has yet to best Michael Clayton as far as performances go. Dujardin gave an excellent silent film performance, I don’t have too much of a problem with him winning.
If you think about Oscars given that the Academy wish they could take back Roberto Benigni fopr best actor and How Green Was My Valley for best picture come to mind. In a year’s time they will wish that they could take the Best Picture Oscar back from ‘Argo’ and give it to ‘Lincoln’.
They will certainly wish that they could take the Adapted Screenplay Oscar from Chris Terrio or David O Russell and give it to Tony Kushner.
Last year they repeated the Life Is Beautiful mistake when they allowed that clown Jean Dujardin to screw George Clooney. That is why I cannot be too mad about ‘Argo’ winning as Clooney gets an Oscar he should have had last year.
Now see, if Lincoln had Jack “The King” Kirby drawings, it would’ve had the race locked up, too.
Learn from this, Spielberg
All hail to the KING!
Looks better than actual Argo.
