Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo, trailer #3

mood indigo

Mood Indigo is Michel Gondry’s adaptation of Boris Vian’s 1947 novel Froth on the Daydream. For some reason the American edition of the book is called Foam of the Daze. That says a lot about how this type of effervescence is tricky to translate but, by Jove, it sure looks like Gondry’s done it.

The literal translation of the French title is ‘The foam of the days’, which I like much better than the other titles.

    This looks quite good.

I’m putting it on my “go to” list.

Thanks, Ryan, for providing the trailer.

    Thanks for embedding, Ryan.

This trailer, its tone in particular, looks totally different from the 2001-2002 Japanese version. And I prefer the French edition (this one).

Love the editing work here. The snippets of the soundtrack, both the Jazz score and the vocal performance, also remind me of some avant-garde 50s and 60s French spy movies and all that – cool. […]

Plus, Audrey Tautou is back, babaay!

I just keep watching this trailer again and again hoping that it won’t end.

    I want this movie now.
