One thing I love about Celine, as portrayed by the brilliant Julie Delpy, is that she seems to always say what most of us think. Sure, it can be annoying at times to hear the truth, or a truth but nonetheless, it’s refreshing.

Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Like I said on an earlier post, it ain’t getting crap. Like Before Sunset, Before Midnght will be one of the most acclaimed films of the year but no one will campaign for it, not the studio, not critics, not film sites and not prediction sites. Even this site only has it under screenplay, and it’ll be lucky to get that because everyone will forget it come fall.
This conversation is very, very true to life.
me too and also. can’t wait to see it.
OT: Just wanted to say boy what a good career Logan Lerman is having post-PERKS. Aronofsky (hopefully it’s not another FOUNTAIN), and now Ayer. Also going though his IMDB he’s supposed to be involved in what it sounds like a promising Marc Webb movie, that is not a super hero movie because he can’t do those for shit. Anyways good for him. Should I check out that short-lived show Jack & Bobby? I’ve heard good things about it from credible people.
I love these two characters and I love Richard Linklater movies. When I call RL one of America’s finest directors, people think I am crazy. He creates such rich characters you want to follow after the movie has ended, and luckily he gave us that with Celine and Jesse.
Can’t wait to see this!!!!!!
For a series of movies in which two characters talk that at times feels like a stage play, it’s rarely ever dry. I can see these two talk for hours.
Okay Academy if this is as good as the first two, particularly Sunset(some are even saying Midnight is the best) then please consider it. No contrived story aspects. No big game or chase down an empty street. Real people talking about real things while responding realistically unlike a certain acclaimed rom com from last year that I don’t need to say. Maybe things won’t end in a nice tidy fashion, but I have a feeling I’ll be leaving the theater less insulted.
Maybe a nom for Julie Delpy? Ah? Maybe? You know for playing a female that actually resembles a real life female. Just saying. Might be cool.
The Academy might throw it a bone in the Adapted Screenplay category, but they’re not cool enough to recognize this elsewhere. Pray that I’m wrong…
