i am SO SO SO SO SO tired of chatty, sarcastic, faux witted, modern colloquialism spouting (lines that will be outdated and trite in 5 years) animals and people in CGI animated movies. some may think it’s smart and ironic and cool, but it’s just tiring and it gets old VERY FAST.
Take a breath of French air then! Ernest and Celestine is a beautifully hand-drawn little film about the heartwarming story of the unlikely friendship between a bear and a mouse:

And the oscar goes to…Monsters University!!
Well, it’s official: this looks to be the worst year in the history of the Best Animated Film category.
Miyazaki’s stocks just rose though, at least if it gets released this year.
Don’t forget Ernest and Celestine! A charming little film, a breath of French air amidst bloated Hollywood fare…

It was Tangled in Australia.
Not that it matters but “From the creators of Rapunzel”? Isn’t that film called “Tangled”?
It’s only called Tangled in the US, in the rest of the world it’s called Rapunzel
It was also Tangled in Canada

Steve Carell for Best Actor!! Maybe also best screenplay and best makeup.
Looks phenomenal
Oh, God…who the HELL will get the ax in Best Actor ? It is safe to say we have two locks (Ejiofor, McConaughey) but who will get the three remaining slots out of these 16 ?
Hugh Jackman
Robert Redford
Idris Elba
Forest Whitaker
Tom Hanks
Bruce Dern
Oscar Isaac
Michael B. Jordan
Ralph Fiennes
not to mention extremely promising, yet-unseen contenders
Steve Carell
Joaquin Phoenix
Michael Fassbender
Christian Bale
George Clooney

Josh Brolin
Early hunch ? Ejiofor, McConaughey, Carell, Phoenix, Jackman.
