“The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” is not only one of the best animated shorts I have ever seen, but also an inspired and forward-thinking interactive book app that has become one of my daughter’s favorite activities. I support it not only because it is incredible animated film-making but because it challenges the notion that technology is a threat to literacy.

I hate when studios do that. If it’s releasing next year, then just submit it next year. I’d hate to see something get nominated that hasn’t been seen made available to the public- even if it IS Pixar.

La Luna will be released with Brave next summer, but they probably submitted the film in various festivals for Oscar eligibility. The only way to see it before the Oscars is to go to the special screening hosted by Cartoon brew over the weekend, or attend one of those Oscar nominated short screenings hosted by Shorts International. *sigh*

Congrats to Dimanche! That should win!
And very happy to see Wild Life make the cut too!

“The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore”- Excellent short! I bought this one off iTunes early this year. I wasn’t sure if they’d submit it but I am glad they did. This one deserves to get nominated, and possibly win.
“La Luna”- Has this one even been released yet? I’ve been dying to see it, I’ve heard so much about it. It sounds terrific, and it’s from Pixar!
