Thanks, Bryce! Posters after the cut.
Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in “Jupiter Ascending,” an original science fiction epic adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski.
Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
From the streets of Chicago to far flung galaxies whirling through space, “Jupiter Ascending” is written and directed by the Wachowskis. Award-winning producer Grant Hill, with whom they have collaborated since “The Matrix” Trilogy, is producing, together with Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski. Roberto Malerba and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers.
Looks to be an interesting and entertaining year in the science fiction genre, between this, the Apes sequel and Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, which he spoke about a bit here:

This looks visually interesting, but absolutely nothing about any of the central human drama has captured my attention. Tatum still looks terrible and Kunis out of place. It feels like they cast them a couple years ago when they were hot and now they’re just stuck with them going through the motions. Dat yelp kunis makes while falling…what the hell. Why leave that in the trailer, it was awful.
Meh, it probably won’t be boring.
Eddie Redmayne looks like a lot of fun in this, and Re poster, aye Steve
I often complaint about trailers but THEY DO give you a good idea on how the movie has turned out. I have been severely burnt very few times for better (PERKS OF BEING A WALL FLOWER) and worse (MAN OF STEEL), but based solely on the trailers and the filmmakers’ track record (I only hate MATRIX REVOLUTIONS; their other stuff at very least I like), I’m confident this will turn out great. Whether it’s a box office flop I can’t say. It’s going to have to start strong right after the APES sequel which everyone I talk to excited is excited about –including me. I care because I would like to keep getting original films *of this scale* from these singular filmmakers on a regular basis.
Another good year for Tatum, ’14
This looks gorgeous visually. I’ll wait for the reviews because the Wachowski’s haven’t made a good movie since the Matrix. The Matrix 2&3 were a mess.
“I thought it was brilliant from a technical standpoint but the story was a bit messy.” (Cloud Atlas)
“Messy” is transmigration’s middle name, m1. 🙂
Watching Cloud Atlas was like watching a plate spinner – a few wobbles, but a thrill overall.

The scenes in which the spectacular starships, star trek and the gravity-defying situations, the planet of Jupiter seemingly looming large upon the horizon, etc., are being displayed, are all quite a treat.
To me, this trailer worked quite well in terms of gaining attention and #communicating with certain target groups.

I’ve been an amateur ufologist for a few years already. And though depending upon the prestige of the film projects in question, I usually fancy sci-fi movies/films that tend to deal with time-space and UFO phenomena even from their theoretical or metaphysical viewpoints.
(Just don’t give me some cheap shots of wannabe B-class action stunts (no, thanks; if I wanna see top-tier kungfu-like choreographed action stunts, I’ll check out Chinese films from Hong Kong, I mean), to begin with; and I’ll be all right (I guess).)
Needless to say, I like what I see (despite — to be blunt — Tatum and Kunis on board).
If it meets my expectations [reading: C+ or so from a genre movie or mainstream-flick viewpoint in this case], then it’s worth my money.
Can’t wait!
Thanks for embedding.

Some elements somehow remind me of #Stargate and #Jay Davison. But we’re talking about the Wachowski . . . er . . . brother and sister (one of the trustworthy names) here; so, I’m not going to point my fingers — at least for now. (Perhaps, just #déjà vu.)
“we all agree that CLOUD ATLAS was the best movie from 2012”
Speak for yourself, please. I thought it was brilliant from a technical standpoint but the story was a bit messy.
The new trailer is much better than the first one. And of course the visuals look gorgeous. I’m anticipating this a little bit more than I was before.
Never seen “pixie ears” made so hot. With those gloves? *I have to sit down.*
Whether this movie is a hit or a miss, it will be a good time and I can’t wait.
Since we all agree that CLOUD ATLAS was the best movie from 2012, this should be great. Plus it’s got lots of Sean Bean according to that trailer. Woot! 🙂
