New Full Length Birdman Trailer and Poster

Trailer found via ONTD and The Film Stage.

Alejandro Inarritu’s new film, Birdman, is one of the most anticipated of the year. It is expected to make the film festival rounds and will close the New York Film Festival. There is much talk about it being long extended takes throughout, and is expected, in our circles, to take a major slot in the Oscar race.

  1. First thought: Holy Mother of God.
Second thought: How come American trailers always look so cautious and timid next to international trailers?

Whoah, this was gooood. It looks like Emma Stone has a meaty part and I don’t believe Keaton EVER had the privilege to such a challenging acting showcase, not even in his glory days. Isn’t it fascinating how suddenly we have Maps to the Stars AND Birdman, exploring from a female and a male point of view respectively the desperate, almost surreal state of being a (once) famous actor of a certain age ? These two will make a unique double feature, that’s for sure !

  3. Believe it or not we can I can’t get sound at work {unless I plug headphones in, but that would be frowned upon to say the least}. That said, this still looks really great. Will watch again later when I get home.

I love that in international trailers, you can swear. But in American trailers, you can’t.

  5. Keaton deserves a nod just for the bird call.

Words to the personified trailer: Dude, u fvckin’ rock! [lol] [borrowing the entire sentence from the John Doe fan on the street (in the alley or laundry room, maybe) at the end of the trailer].

This international trailer rock n roll, babaaay! So does the poster.

    Kudostorm. Duuude u fvckin’r roock! : )

  7. In addition to Maps to the Stars and Birdman, last year’s Inside Llewyn Davis also dealth with the trials and tribulations of being in the entertainment industry. It should be interesting to see whether those two movies can live up to the Coens’ fantastic piece of work.

Looks like a lot of serious fun. But also like something Terry Gilliam might have tackled twenty years ago.

Wow – this looks like a best actor nomination for sure….perhaps a win?
